I'm betting it on not guilty, but I wish I could pair it with 'REEEEEEEEE!' because I have a sinking feeling something horrible will happen to Chauvin even if he gets not guilty.

Like maybe some black guy goes up to him acting like Boss Nigger and shoots him, leading to the black guy getting shot, the nation burns, and white people once again shit their pants and do nothing as Chauvin is recorded in history as guilty. Or a lynching that isn't called a lynching because he's white, half the country burns, news media gets gold medal at the special olympics for the mental gymnastics they do for them to say lynchings are empowering when blacks do it...

Overdramatic and way too doomer I know but it's clown world so the chances are not zero. Also I don't live in the states most affected so I got popcorn just in case.

So, instead of the obvious "when are we getting a verdict" I'll ask a slightly different question: What day should I start bringing my AR15 to the shop.
Personally, around Tuesday. We're most likely not getting the verdict today and that still gives time to find ammo the next day and for the background check to clear if you buy from a proper gunshop.

I voted mistrial basically the day after I heard someone was taking photos of the jury, but i never thought the prosecution would bring up brand new evidence and then pursue it even after being warned by the judge. Either the prosecutor is a rookie or he's throwing on purpose.

I'm going to be contrarian and go with Guilty.

Not because I think he's guilty, just because of the amount of times I've heard "we all saw the video" this past week, I have little faith the jury is going to hold fast to "beyond a reasonable doubt".

im going with guilty because i think the jury has been sufficiently intimidated with threats of rioting, doxing, having their pictures taken and published, etc.
if you're on this jury and you acquit this cop, you're making yourself and your family targets for reprisal attacks by the mob, and you know that neither the cops nor the justice system can really protect or help you.

Considering the nature of this case, wouldn't Chauvin have been better off asking for a trial by judge? That's....a thing he could do right?
His odds are better in hoping 1 out 12 of a Jury is unbiased enough to be convinced by the defense than hoping 1 of 1 judges aren't looking to "set a historical precedent"

so who is the best bet to acquit on this line up?

the fact that there's more women than men is troubling, possibly more so than the number of POC on that jury

the chemist sounds promising, but the fact that they work in "environmental testing" and is in their 20s does not

number 9 sounds like absolute dog shit, mixed race who really wanted to be on this jury, uh oh

Juror # 131 might be the best chance. White male planning to move out of the state too, so he will be safer after the verdict.

Why was Juror # 9 even accepted by the defense?

Not guilty all the way. Call me crazy but I want to believe the system isn't as broken as the doomers think. I want to believe we live in a just society.
I actually spoke to a member of my family who works in legal stuff, and they are pretty convinced the system is working as intended. I know that means jack shit, but basically this has gone in the cops favor almost every time before, and even cases that seemed like Kangaroo courts, like the Charlottesville car guy weren't. They just appeared that way because due to our lack of info.

sidenote: That guy apparently really was just a super inept terrorist who pre planned his attack. Only he made the fatal error of killing a paralegal and riled up the lawyers.

We'll see. This whole thing is a hilarious shitshow. It's like the OJ trial all over again. We just need a car chase now.

Juror 2 also spent his summers working at a Jewish summer camp with his local synagogue, so I wouldn't hold out hope on him. I believe he was also the one that visited the George Floyd spot with his girlfriend?

Number 52 and number 89 are where my bets would be, but who the fuck knows.
