Something else I want to touch on is that antis/twitter crusaders get really upset when people ship fictional siblings together. Their main argument is that if someone ships these characters in an incestuous manner, they're clearly normalizing incest in the real world. Nevermind the fact that a fair amount of popular fiction have incest as a plot point such as Game of Thrones along with several anime.
I don't exactly know why they get this heated over it due the fact that most people know that incest is wrong, but they act as if someone reads a fanfic with incest in it that they'll immediately go fuck their siblings. Which says a lot more about the mindset of these antis/crusaders than the people consuming that content.

That's not an exactly correct comparison, though, as since GoT became popular, a significant number of people started to bring up incest as a type of no-big-deal "sexual experiment" stuff. I even see that shit in the most mainstream places.

Well...I figured as much since GoT is popular among normies. However, that doesn't mean that works of fiction are responsible for people making poor life choices. But even then, there hasn't been a call to ban GoT for "normalizing incest" compared to a handful of gay fanfics written by some horny teenagers that these crusaders get really pissy about.
They legit believe that pedophiles will use "problematic fan fiction" to lure children and make them more susceptible to taboo fetishes. I've yet to have seen a pedo using a fanfic to groom kids, but these crusaders swear it's personally happened to them. They all have the same story too it seems; an abusive friend of theirs made them read a really naughty fan fiction and wanted to RP with them IRL. All it really tells me is that they should have had better parental supervision online.

Fucking this! If anything any modern groomer online would just slide into dms with a fake profile trying to build enough trust so they can exchange nudes or meetup in person.
The only case I've heard of some pedophile luring kids with "problematic art" was some Instagram furry user who would send loli and cub pics right off the bat and ask their recipient to pose for them "as a joke".
It feels like everyone just uses that same template of a backstory because that's the only major case of it ever happening.
Even if they did successfully get rid of NSFW works they don't like it's not like groomers are going to stop existing online. They'll find different methods, if they even bother going to the spam loli art and rape fanfic route in the first place.

This is a corollary to that stonetoss comic about predators using camouflage. Guy who clearly is an unrepentant sex pervert puts on this mask crusading against anime girls when in reality he gets off on the real thing. It gives him cover while also not affecting him and his habit.
