This stupid shit pretty much reminds me of what took place on Tumblr a long time ago.

So long before Twitter became a cesspool of self-righteous dipshits, there was Tumblr which was the social media platform for fandoms at its peak.

Well I can't believe that I have to bring up this story after all these years but this is the story of Pinkiepony (aka Pinkie Posh) and the stupid shitstorm of the drama that was the Princess Molestia blog.

So if you know anything about the Internet in the early 2010's, back then you had the brony fandom in which at the time exploded in popularity after the huge success that was 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. This show got so popular that it was everywhere and you really couldn't escape from it at the time too.

So naturally like a lot of things, the show 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' would gain a lot of attention from a lot of Rule 34 artists and one of those many projects that spawned from this was a Tumblr blog called 'Princess Molestia'.

Now 'Princess Molestia' was a blog that featured the character 'Princess Celestia' from the hit T.V. series and looking at the remaining screenshots it just seemed like softcore porn at best where the character would speak to the reader in a lewd manner while making some suggestive poses too. For a while this blog gotten some popularity that is until this person named 'Pinkiepony' started one of the dumbest online moral crusades ever.

So Pinkiepony decided to go to war against the Princess Molestia Tumblr blog where she claimed that the blog 'promoted sexism' and how content such as this 'demeaned' women everywhere. The drama would get so bad that it would eventually gain the attention from Hasbro in which they decided to send a 'Cease and Desist' letter to the people that ran the Princess Molestia blog and the Tumblr blog then taken down for good. So after all of this, Pinkiepony got her insignificant victory but this left a lot of people really pissed off that she did all of this to begin with.

However, this story does not end here. It would then turn out that the real reason why Pinkiepony wanted the Princess Molestia blog down wasn't because of any of the dumb social justice bullshit that she wanted to push; the real reason why Pinkiepony wanted the blog gone was because she then found her little sister looking at it and wanted her little sister to not look at the NSFW blog anymore and so Pinkiepony then started all of this really dumb social justice crusade because she was too fucking lazy to be the big sister and stuff. To add insult to injury, people would also discover that Pinkiepony has also once drew lesbian MLP porn and other pornographic art too and a lot of people did called her out on this in which she would have a total nuclear meltdown in the aftermath.

So the people that were just having fun and didn't really hurt anyone got screwed over in the end all because someone was too incompetent and lazy to set up an Internet filter that allows people to blacklist said websites from being accessed so there you have it.

So what's the moral of this story? The people that project and bitch about these sorts of things a lot almost always turn out to be total hypocrites and also bigger pieces of shit themselves.

Besides, it shouldn't be that surprising to see Twitter being the cesspool that it is now.

With Tumblr now dead and irrelevant, I can only hope that Twitter suffers the same fate too.

The brony tumblr shit drama from the earlier part of the decade may as well of been a prequel to it all. If someone really wants to bitch about how some dumb edgy "adult" parody of a cartoon horse or how an aged up drawing of some "3000 year old demon girl" is pedophilia, it'll all back fire in hypocrisy when they try to get on a high ground despite having a stash of something like shota and loli porn.

Do you have links to where they might group up, like a subreddit or a Discord which they specifically focus on being anti-loli/pedo crusaders? I don't think this is a bad idea as right now we are seeing the people push porn bans and how cowish some of them are, but if its a community watch thread I just want to see more about the community. Right now it just feels very disconnected, and its not really a community-just a bunch of people who are up their own ass.

The latter has origins stemming from old fag weeaboo hipster faggots who claimed that Sailor Moon and everything cutesy back in the 1990s that "wasn't cool or mature" to egotistic faggots was
"the bane of anime as a whole" and Anime News Network Writer Zac Bertschy (among others) being one of these hipster faggots who has long dictated and influenced a lot of fan behavior with his writing and viewpoints for a good decade, including getting a "hardcore sex loli manga" canned (when it wasn't) and used his site as a mouthpiece for his shithead views like CNN, and the former helps show why Japan is so "superior" in terms of animation and sequential art; not because of there being a lot of so called "master artists", but from the fact that their industry generates a community which has its own thriving populace of creators and artists whose efforts come to breed respect, dedication, responsibility, and workmanship for what they do, and helps weed out fakes and hipsters better than cosplay and convention going. I think you got a good portion of the history down in this comment. It's pretty much an extension of the anti-moe wing of the weeb fandom. Here are a few precursors:

Colony Drop was a blog that focused on anime culture and pseudo-intellectual think pieces. They were fans of "old school" anime from the 80's and 90's, and the general editorial attitude there was intensely anti-moe, and tended to paint any moe character (whether they were of legal age or not) as pedo-bait.

You already mentioned Bertschy, but to add a little bit, the manga he effectively got cancelled was named "Kodomo no Jikan". In fairness, it really isn't the type of thing OP is talking about here, since the girls in it are very obviously under-aged, though their sexualization in the story is mostly intended to be comical and (in my opinion) isn't intended to be arousing. His usual partners in crime at ANN, like Hope/Jacob Chapman, are also here.

A large chunk of the anime commentary sphere could also be included here. Most were/are anime podcasters or anime convention panelists, though they've written the occasional thing for Otaku USA or ANN; there's more than worth naming in this comment since most are either inactive or largely irrelevant, but a couple names I can think of off-hand that are still fairly significant today are Mike Toole and Cody Baier. In general, their actual impact in the fandom wasn't all that big, since they were catering to a minority of the fan base to begin with; most of the time, they're opinions on this type of material could be summed up as "why doesn't a foreign country's niche media cater to me?", but they still tended to paint moe fans as autistic borderline/actual pedos. Of them, Toole is certainly the most prominent nowadays, since he's now actually got a editorial job at ANN now. Baier gained recent prominence due to his support of Vic Mignogna during the currently ongoing Weeb Wars drama, which makes him pretty unique among the parties mentioned in this comment.

This sort of thing has been around for over a decade in the anime/manga scene, moving from blogs and podcasts to tumblr and now to Twitter. Twitter is probably their most effective strategy yet, since you can get away with just tweeting "ok pedo" at them and boom, you're done. In general, the "anti-moe/moe defense force" war is probably a better way of looking at this than as "pedo-hunter/loli defender", but that's my $.02.

Well looking back on this, I think that this is probably one of the main reasons why Pixiv decided to create their own Mastodon instance back then because I'm sure that they want to give their own artists a place to post what they want without dealing with this type bullshit anyway.

See, I think it was some time ago that Pixiv announced that they would create a Mastodon instance called 'Pawoo' in which Japanese artists can post whatever they wanted (the website would eventually be transferred to some Japanese online gaming company but they are still partnered with Pixiv and Pixiv still shills for Pawoo when they can on their Mastodon account on Pawoo too) and if you're also wondering the instance does also allow loli and shota content which you can still find being posted by Japanese artists too.

If you're also wondering, Pixiv does have a Twitter account but they only use that to promote deals and events and hardly promote any artists at all and at this point it's probably for the best that they do so.

So what does this mean? We're probably going to reach that point where eventually the Internet will become more decentralized just how it should be. Look what happened with Kiwi Farms because Twitter kept banning them and Null was forced to create his own instance on Pleroma where finally people can talk about idiots online as much as they want.

This is probably going to be the future of the Internet as I see it if trends won't change anytime soon; making the Internet less dependent on big tech as we know it.

The series itself continued for several years in Japan after Seven Seas dropped the license. It did eventually get a digital release in the U.S. from DMP, though it's listed under their hentai label.
