I think what this person is more so going for is the "pedophile =/= sex offender who goes for minors" idea. I don't think she's justifying it, but is more so referring to the word pedophile in its purest form, which is just referring to people who have a sexual attraction to prepubescent children.
But there is some cognitive dissonance when they say someone attracted to Asian women is a pedophile and then turning around and critiquing the usage of the word for adults who go after minors. It really does make you think about these kinds of folks.
There's something strange about it. Gives me similar vibes to that one e-thot who argued there should be a porn site for kids. I'd look up the tweet but I feel like I'd be put on a watchlist for trying to find it.
