Yup! They tell you how many remaining swaps you have at the end of a game. The stars correspond to remaining swaps. You could aim for 5, but you can do whatever makes you happiest.

I see! I'll try to aim for 5, that's the goal after all! And now I understand why you guys were putting different stars in the result! (I didn't knew you could just copy paste from the share button and I was making the grid myself...)

I remember @ChompChomp mentioning how they disliked how you need to drag to swap letters, and now I see why. I accidentally let go of a piece and that wasted one, while another was wasted due to losing a 50/50.
