The Windows OS Thread - Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets

I didn't know this thread existed, I just upgraded to a windows 10 pro 2018 yesterday from a windows 7 home premium. I'm using librewolf and I want to know why there are 13 instances created and cpu momentarily spikes to 90% and causes lag? Are all browsers so broken on win 10? I'm new to win 10 so I would like to know if it's functionally the same as win 7. I was able to keep 7 running at a reasonably high speed and performance but browser compatibility broke which is why I was forced to change.

That's just how modern web browsers are

In win 7 my last chrome update was from 2021, it ran very smoothly. The latest version of Tor did as well. Did everything become that pozzed in 3 years?
Its been like that since 2021 but it got worse, so hardware that previously might be able to keep up now cannot

Firefox is notoriously bloated. Maybe they shouldn't have fired the guy who built their company over not loving buttsex enough. Anyway, I'm running Brave right now. It's sitting at 2%-3% CPU and 2 GB of RAM.
I want to switch, but I would have to switch all of my passwords out of google's password manager. I should probably do that, but idk when I'll have the time for that headache.

Go to your Password Manager, go to Settings, and export your passwords to a file then import that file to your browser of choice. You have to change some settings in Ungoogled Chrome to do that but it's easy to find the code you need to copy/paste.

Firefox ESR is still supported for a few more months on Win7.

After that there are some bootsy Chromium backports but you could always run Linux or whatever in a VM for browser and just isolate it from your Windows 7 install.

I think I'm going to live long enough to destroy my computers and go outside and actually touch grass

"We're requiring all PCs to have on-chip security features to protect against malware. Also, the new version of our operating system will constantly screenshot your desktop and save an archive in an unencrypted data format."

So basically any PC manufactured after 2023 is possibly going to have hardware built-in that is on some level monitoring you, not to the extreme extent of new Windows OS with CoPilot+ and Recall, but still its keeping track of programs at a hardware level.

Forced into troglodyte status by big tech.

2023?
Intel Management Engine has been installed since 2008.
This is just improving the technology.

2023? More like 2013, the last mainstream CPU series to not have built in security hardware was AMD FX

Yeah this, I wanted to try out Mullvad and Librewolf after Null recommended them, they were part of the win 10 checklist but now having used them, I can say Librewolf is fucking awful and Firefox is marginally better. Ive switched to Brave as well, I had it earlier but didnt want to use it cause Chromium.

Is there a way to send any data requested from the IME or the AMD equivalent straight to a pi-hole or something similar? Yeah, they can still get the info if they have physical access to your machine but by then you're already fucked or you should have thermited your shit when the glowies are knocking at your door.

CPU security features do not keep a record of what programs you have run.

How does Brave's chain sync work? Is it possible to add my server to the chain?
