Circa 2000 was the capacitor plague era, when even nichicon capacitors weren't immune from failure. I have a nonfunctional Made in Japan Roland SC-88 with leaky caps, truly it was the worst of times.1995 was 30 years ago. I'll bet that proportionally, there are more generic OEM PSUs from 1995 that still work today than there will be from 2020 that still work in 2050. Chinese-made capacitors and their consequences have been a disaster for the PC master race.
Besides there's a lot of other things that can go wrong other than capacitors.
