Kinda late to the opinions here but I don't get how this is wrong or anything. Can someone explain why wanting to see below the makeup is bad? That's me saying I want the real you, not the fake dolly you.
:autism:

If you watched a youtube makeup reviewer, most guys would be shocked at how different a girl can make herself look. All those weekend benders and sunburn damage fade away in an instant.

Am I weird for thinking the woman on the bottom looks better without make up? That raccoon eye liner especially, she looks like an extra from an old Robert Palmer video.

And as for the one on top, yeah the zits and blemishes aren't attratctive, but I'm not sure what turning her into a Dresden doll is supposed to do.

'Course I am a male, and I guess the old truism about how women don't dress up for men but for each other could just as equally be applied to make up.

Guys "Yeah shes pretty hot" "Nah I wouldn' tap that"

Girls "Oh my god why would she wear that" "Did you see how she did her eyeliner? lol"

Yeah makeup is patriarchy

They obviously don't give a damn about their skin to begin with. So they cover it up instead of taking care of it. This is going to come back to bite them in the ass in a few years. Loads of pore clogging makeup on a majorly blemished face? Disaster recipe. The top one has some pretty bad acne and needs to see a dermatologist. You can see the pimples under her makeup. The bottom one needs some damn Carmex on her lips or something.

Also, the natural shape of her eyes and eyebrows are so much prettier than that Hollywood skank look she gave herself. People just go with whatever is trendy. So you have a lot of sameface makeup tutorials out there.

Some time the makeup has to come off and he's gonna see the real you. People will eventually at some point catch you without your precious face in a bottle. So who cares if some app can simulate it. They do know that it's smoke and mirrors from a filter right? It's not magic. It isn't some special brand of x-ray vision that sees under the face paint.

I imagine some of them are actually that dumb.

as a female who goes barefaced all the time, i really give no fucks

if you truly think that one damn app is going to completely demolish what people think of your looks, let alone a "no makeup" depiction that might not even be fully accurate to what you look like without makeup, then that's your own insecurities speaking.

That's a pretty fucking impressive demonstration in that gif actually god damn, I thought it was just running pictures through. I didn't realize it worked in realtime.

Anyways, it really is telling that when these people are up against the choice between 'tool to use to remove makeup that might make me not look pretty' and 'tools to use against human trafficking', they pick the former to focus on. Couldn't possibly think about people who are ACTUALLY suffering, couldn't possibly think about the little girls being caked in whore makeup without their consent and sold to pedophiles on the streets, oh no. The REAL issue here is that they can see through Dolly Parton's sixteen layers of makeup.

I'm vaguely reminded of some story in the early Yugioh manga where this bitch teacher wore makeup to cover up her ugly personality and was stripped of it in front of the class due to her cruel behavior. Ironically she was uncovered because she was trying to make the personal secrets of students into a public debacle, putting her own visage over the lives of others. Just like that, these vain people are thinking only of themselves over the personal lives and safety of others. This app is honestly going to a good cause that could serve to really help people, to help CHILDREN, but all they can think about is that someone might know they're actually butterfaces.

The female is immunized against all dangers: one may call her a thot, roastie, slut, it all runs off her like water off a raincoat. But take off her makeup and you will be astonished at how she recoils, how injured she is, how she suddenly shrinks back: "I've been found out."
