Things people pretend to know but in reality know shockingly very little - Its easier to pretend you are smart than to actually be smart.

Critical thinking, the scientific method, value of expert opinions and "objectivity".

I've encountered people who believed a person should not have an access to scientific papers outside of their field of expertise, because there's no way they could interpret them correctly as this magical ability is given people strictly through formal education. Others seem to think scientists are somehow much less prone to bias than other professions and that data collection and interpretation are inherently rigid, bias free processes. Evidence unclear or messy? Trust the scientist's guess. Impossible to replicate? No worries, that doesn't affect the scientific quality of our science. The whole idea that science is this thing performed outside of layman's reach and its conclusions are to be accepted without skepticism, because that's where science ends and science denial begins. Questioning things as a symptom of a lack of critical thinking. Questioning politicized things as a symptom of dangerous opinions. I've noticed it tends to be the IQ 105 types who are the most insufferable. Retards and geniuses are usually more reasonable.

Trust in the establishment or experts is something I've come across often in my life. Not only trusting the establishment media. But people who suddenly believed they were now oracles of knowledge on all subjects because they had just achieved a degree on freshwater biology from an establishment.

Growing up and getting older you really get the sense of not only of the ignorance of people in general. But also how emotionally influenced people are, and not just in their teens or 20's.

My professor in a psychology course gave some very useful advice to anyone who thinks they could analyze someone after taking his class: don't.
I had some bitch try to figure me out after I picked her up at a club one night. She tried to get in my head and figure out "what's wrong with me" because she had "taken psychology" and "could help me"

Lol. Lmao even.

Ironically that starts to head into "gospel" territory, shit you arent suppose to question. They want the freedom of science for themselves while the restrictions of religion for everyone else.

And they either dont notice the paterns or disturbingly dont care.

Man, they even got Austria wrong.

All jokes aside, how come someone can draw something like this and not a single person points out this shit is wrong and it makes them and the establishment look like a fucking moron?

But then again, maybe it could be smart commentary of the perception of the average joe on geography. It should say small and hidden at the corner "This is what a lot of people legit think the world map is like"

Funny thing is, a lot of the people that are telling you to trust the science tended to be the biggest "Fuck the government" counter culture crowd back at the 2000's. They either sold out their balls or they never had any because it was easy to rebel against something like the Bush administration where the worst it could do is give you a talk down about drugs and terrorism while today, going against the establishment can legit ruin your fucking life. This is the time where you legit need a counter culture ASAP.

Fucking meaningless nobodies is what they are. Dont want to accept that they aint young anymore and they arent the "cool" counter culture anymore because it would force them to admit that the party that they supported, the democrats, are now the villains.

She may legit think psychology gives her super mind powers or something. I legit see people acting like thats what their diplomas give them.

Psychology is like medical studies, in the end, its making educated guests and observations when they could easily be wrong. Maybe even more because the human mind is more complex than the body.
