i remember finding an autistic community around pinball machines years ago and thinking that was the pinnacle of it. not surprised at all that thomas the tank engine has an adult community around it. chug on, little tank engines. :)
 
You know at one point, the Thomas community was called "tankies." Not even kidding.
 
I found a scan of Christopher Awdry's lore book "Sodor: Reading Between the Lines" published in 2005. By the time this was published the original lore book was long out of print. This was Christopher's way of keeping his Father's lore alive.

The Unlucky Tug's channel got taken down due to YouTube bullshit.
 
The Talyllyn Railway had a photo charter over the weekend before their No. 4 "Edward Thomas" was due to be withdrawn for overhaul. At the end of the event they dressed Edward Thomas up as it's Thomas counterpart.
 
They actually got Mark Moraghan (who narrated Thomas and Friends from 2013 to 2017) for this.

I watched the Ringo Starr run and a little of the successor, but promptly checked out after that. That was peak Thomas times.

Had a glimpse of "modern Thomas" on Netflix(?) and that just looks like pure autism.

Seasons 1-7 was the shit. After that, it slowly degraded in quality. Thomas would ultimately become the same terrible baby schlock that all children's shows are today, ending with All Engines Go.
It sucks, I loved the show as a kid; and it was one of the best out there. It had heart and substance to it, and it didn't belittle your intelligence. Children's media today is such unadulterated garbage.
