Original Design (1994-1996 Model VHS "Pilot Series"):I think I either pointed it out in this thread or another one that the topic came up but Jay Jay was originally something similar to Thomas production wise, but was the first one of these things to reboot itself as a cheap cgi nightmare show and naturally suffered for it immensely.

I only remember the show because of the 9/11 jokes the youtube poop community used to do with it.The Thomas faces are superior to the nightmare fuel known as Jay Jay the Jet Plane.

For years I've wondered what this movie was about but, after seeing this, I'm glad it never came out. I'm so sick of "Thomas is magic!"
"SODOR WIND!"Also, here's Thomas as Sasuraiger:

Sir Handel got an eyepatch at one point?! That's metal!!! You sir just boosted my childhoodThe Unlucky Tug recently put out a two hour long video talking about the real life basis for all of the RWS characters.
Also, today was the first day of Awdry Extravaganza 4. A yearly celebration of Wilbert Awdry, and his works, hosted by the Talyllyn Railway. I woke up late but managed to catch some trains on the Railway's webcam. The big happening was newly built Corris Railway No. 10 was dressed as Sir Handel this year. Talyllyn had the honor of wearing the infamous Nic Cage face while "Sir Handel" got a new face based on the story Steam Roller. Sir Haydn wore his old face with an eyepatch which is a reference to an event in the early 80's where "Sir Handel" hit a tree branch and the crew on the Talyllyn had to bandage him up. This was later turned into a story by Christopher Awdry.

It's always been expensive, and the detail is thanks to 20+ years' worth of innovation in toymaking. I remember the Learning Curve stuff being pretty expensive, so you must have had knockoffs (even though Learning Curve had a recall for lead paint).I got to ask though when did the Thomas stuff get so expensive and high detailed?
Nah, it was definitely the Learning Curve stuff. I probably didn't realize the cost because I was a little kid and never thought about it.I remember the Learning Curve stuff being pretty expensive, so you must have had knockoffs
