What are some fucking weird ways you noticed TikTok people, modern day Internet users, e-kids and Internet women, acting?
The ways they mug the camera, point at some text on screen and do a little jig, the dances they do, or maybe the weird ways they communicate, the odd words they say and the tones they use?

Basically, if it's weird, post it here and let us analyze it Animal Planet style

Particularly I'm curious about this phenomena where they do something embarrassing, like in this video, but then act like they just "Pwned the haterz epic style" and perform a little theatre performance around it

The biggest issue I have with (spas)TikTokers and E-children is their serious lack of impulse control – both in terms of personal privacy and a rampant addiction to social media: I remember speaking to someone who has an (understandable) aversion to mobile phones. They brought up this app, ‘BeReal’, which stops the user in its tracks to take both a selfie and a photo of what they are currently doing, before sending them off to nearby users, who do the same at different intervals. This app is apparently super popular in my country, which leads me to question my trust for these people.
The speech patterns of children are alarming, the fluoride stare when you talk to children/teenagers with sentences longer than 10 words. The attention span of this generation is beyond repair. There is not enough methamphetamine salts on earth to fix this.
If ADHD wasn’t so overdiagnosed and glorified in the developed world, “quirky” Zoomers would probably fare much better in lengthy tasks, simply because they’d have nothing to fall back on to exucse their laziness.

The massive increase in "Mental Illness" diagnoses because of TikTok is insane. It even comes out in their language and how they perceive the world. If I hear "Let's normalize" some bullshit idea because people can't take criticism one more time I'm gonna lose it. Once they get enveloped in the mindset, their entire worldview is shaped by the self-ascribed mental illness that they do or do not have. Most of them don't and just latch on because they need it to be "valid".

I also think there is something about modern social media that has changed the world. Someone who I know who uses these apps (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) said "I want to stop living in unprecedented times" It's a bit exaggerated, but remember even 5 years ago when big things happening stayed in the culture for more than 5 minutes? Major world events are getting memoryholed at alarming rates because people's attention span/hype and anger meter gets depleted. It's working wonders for our Government.

Last point - Shit like Taylor Swift is pure marketing that shows how powerful these apps are. A (now) billionaire who is destroying the environment with her concerts and constant private traveling is lauded as a true inspiration for young women. Don't forget to buy her merch at the concert you spend $700 for nosebleeds on! Did you know that Taylor thinks X and does Y? Buy her song so Scooter can eat shit! I don't agree with the liberal hate mongering, but these extremely liberal young women should be up in arms calling for Taylors roping at this point.

"Let's normalize"
Most of the shit these people want 'normalized' is typically very much normal, albeit undesirable behavior
It's nothing strange or indicative of mental illness, but rather indicative of assholishness, just plain unpleasant or unlikeable. Nothing really stops them from doing it, but they need it normalized because they're incapable of doing anything that isn't approved of by the collective
They're normalfags who can't just silently conform, but also aren't insane or rebellious enough to go their own way and do things without caring who's looking- they want the "best" of both worlds, the affirmation of conforming with the freedom to do as they please, without working for either

I have a theory that most of these women used to be the kinda people who mocked, hated or bullied the autistic and mentally handicapped when they were younger, and now that doing that isn't cool anymore, and these mental disorders are trendy, they wanna jump in and get the sweet sweet attention without actually being forced to respect or share the pie with those same undesirable folk
So they alienate them, portray mental illness as something cutesy that any girly can have if she's just quirky enough, while actual autists and retards are just "creepy" and "icky", that way these girls get special treatment, are treated like saints, but never have to interact with or allot that same treatment to the- *gag* -weirdos they still hold disdain towards

That is dystopian as fuck. "Ok everyone time to stop and take another mandated selfie! Remember you can only BeReal when your mobile device tells you to stop and take a selfie in the time limit!" Now imagine a social credit ding/increased scrutiny for not complying in time or refusing.

Also the developer is "Not another social network."

A big part of me wants to install this and just start furiously masturbating all day.

Isn't this literally what gov wanted to mandate during the 'rona panic? A lot of governments around the world brought up the idea of an application that everyone would be mandated to download, where they get a random message at any hour of the day, and they have to send their location and take a selfie to make sure they're not breaching containment going outside during lockdown

It seems like every dystopian idea first created to control and wrangle the population is later being sold to them as a nifty fun little piece of entertainment
Like when feds realized facial recognition doesn't work on people wearing heavy makeup, glasses or clown makeup, and suuuuuddenly, for no reason at all, photo apps started rolling out filters that people had to stare into for several minutes at a time to get their face scanned and then apply a makeup/glasses/clown filter on it
Now facial recognition can recognize people wearing these things
For no reason whatsoever
Coincidenté

Also Return of the Freaker get the fuck out of my thread

I had forgotten this. Iirc it was thrown around more in Europe, maybe Australia?

Tax: I dont have a video onhand or time to go hunt one down but there was some retarded trend where one or two "people" would stand in front of the camera and make repetitive hand motions to specific music that would give enough time for 3 questions and answers in text onscreen. It was almost always something "ignorant" people/"haters" would ask about the droid's cundishuns/sexuality/gender feelz and the answers were always either snark or whimsical bullshit. Like two lesbos raising some poor kid ("who's the father?"/"Voldemort!")

To my knowledge, Australia, the USA and Israel were among the few, I don't know about any others

The most fascinating thing to me about TikTok is just how much alike everyone on there is
People in the same community tend to have similar behaviors or follow similar trends, but I have never seen an app, website or community where people are quite as homogenous as TikTokkers
It's like they're all bred from the same tube

In the last few years, therapy speech has gotten out of control. I remember when I never heard therapy terms outside of clinical articles or professionals speaking in a documentary, but now all I hear from people is therapy speech, even when just having a casual conversation.

I hate it so much, now whenever I hear the terms "Boundaries" "valid" "trauma" "normalize" and "narcissistic" I can't help but automatically assume the person talking is lazy, too sensitive, or a drama starter. Example, have you ever talked with someone who brings up a totally common childhood occurrence? Maybe your parents made you hang out with grandma even when you didn't really want to? Well these days that would be considered abusive, your parents violated your boundaries because they're narcissistic assholes.

I feel for kids of this generation where every minor inconvenience in life has 1,000 TikToks telling them why it's abusive or why it's a bigger deal than it really is.

edit: Oh yeah, I hate the term "gas lighting" now too, it used to mean something but now people use it whenever someone even mildly disagrees with you.

I have a conspiracy theory where the sudden Taylor Swift promotion is to use her to get white women to vote democrat next election.

You missed out "safe space"

Anyone that uses that near me will soon find out they are no longer in one.

Therapy speech has absolutely made it's way into normiespeak in two ways- to validate assholes, and to discredit valid people

On one hand, if you're lazy, or a cunt, or just unpleasant to be around, now you're "coping" or "healing"
But on the other hand, if you have absolutely valid criticisms, or concerns, or notice that something it's right, youre "gaslighting" or a "schizo"

It's kinda used the same way health professionals used the terms for years, some are used to validate those they want more money out of, while others are used as a silencing tactic against those who know too much or aren't easily fooled by their flowery language
But now people who aren't even trained in that sort of manipulation are using it without even realizing, and I wonder to what degree this is just the result of the medical industry deciding to relegate it's work to the people

Reading every post in this thread reminds me that I'm not the one insane, everyone around me is. I'm seeing the exact same shit you guys are.

Everything today is THERAPY THERAPY THERAPY everyone needs THERAPY. How did humans get by without all this therapy in the past? They love it because these dogshit therapists tell them they're not the fucking problem, and they don't have to ever feel things like guilt or shame when they have a therapist to validate them at every turn.

I think people making music specifically for the purpose of having one 15-second section to cut out and make a stupid meme out of is the most prevalent example of something that's escaping the platform and bleeding into my generally social-media-adverse lifestyle. I already thought the music industry has a creative bankruptcy problem like anything else, but seeing things in the real world be influenced by social media apps that'll be defunct in 5-6 years is always a stupid, existentially dreadful thing to watch.

Therapy is rarely helpful, expensive and the process usually focuses on female-centric processes rather than males at all. Most issues in life can be resolved with communication, and a bit of humbleness. Most therapists (if able) will prescribe you a medication as soon as humanly possible. This also plays into the TikTok self-diagnosis problem since "patients" go into the session already knowing what to say to convey they are X thing. How can a therapist not prescribe you Adderall when you say literally every word or phrase used to describe ADHD?

It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy of addiction and death.

Nevermind songs being MADE for Tiktok... I don't use Tiktok and I had the displeasure of hearing a song I like, and someone going "Oh it's that Tiktok song" because apparently it's been popularized by the app as a 15 second clip for some girl to twerk too while she shows off her Squishmallow collection or something
