Honestly, Buckley was never a... stellar writer. Otherwise he probably would've realized that Loss could have been done way better.

I remember when I first heard Ctrl+Alt+Del did a miscarriage storyline, and my initial reaction was, "They wouldn't. Even doucheB^Uag knows he couldn't properly write something like that."
I was disappointed when I went on the site, to say the least.

That's his prerogative, but it's not like "webcomic creator" is known for being a steady and lucrative career. My advice to him would have been to not rock that boat too hard.

Considering the fact that his CAD kickstarter managed to raise $665,725 from 5,553 backers in less than a month, I'd say that Buckley knows what it takes to maintain a readership sizeable enough to continue relying on CAD as his main source of income. He's a shitty webcomic author alright, but he's smart enough as to not sabotage his shitty webcomic.

I know I'm pretty late to the party, but I think this is a thread worthy of a reboot.
Did anyone see the original ending to the first "arc" of CAD? It made no damn sense, and had B^U's self-insert character die. I never gave a crap about any of the idiot characters, but that seems like a pretty dumb way to end your series, especially for the few fans it had.

@Meowthkip, that implies that the SwashB^Uckler has any foresight. I'm afraid that Loss.tiff was a bit of evidence of absence.

The one thing that I really don't like about B^Utthole is his inability to take criticism. He thinks CAD is this sacred messiah, something free of faults.
For instance, I quickly browsed his Twitter a few weeks back, and someone said, "It's hard to keep up with all the new story lines you keep introducing in your comic" (paraphrasing, btw).
Where any human would realize this is a major screw up that should be fixed, B^U just replied, "That's nice" (not paraphrasing anymore). He thinks CAD is perfect, and if you disagree? That's nice.

That said, I will give Fuckley this: CAD is not in fact the worst video game webcomic of all time. VG Cats is.

The one reason the Loss storyline failed is because it was exactly like another regular episode of CAD. Sure, the comic has had some funny moments before, but more the most part it's just ran-dumb crapola B^U expects us to laugh at.
The Loss storyline was treated no differently than any other CAD storyline, when it should have been since it deals with serious subject matter. Hell, the characters' expressions barely even change from their normal ones.
