I'm more or less of the same opinion that it's highly possible that it's a scam. Though even if you proved it was a scam they'd just say something like "But we are all made of space dust, so it is not untrue Mr. Round Eye pig."
I found the episode, and it's even labeled "Tim Pool Ruins Dungeons and Dragons", and it sure looks like it. I'm not a huge D&D player but I can imagine someone trying to rules lawyer all the time being a major buzzkill because D&D is more about creating an interesting story as a group, even if you're min-maxing and power gaming you can still do that, but if you're nitpicking small rules to get a gotcha it's rather shit. A good GM will even bend rules and modify things to make it flow better.
Also, Andreas is in this episode and he's as much of a sperg as always.
