On 12 August, Tim had Allen West, executive director for the American Constitutional Rights Union, a right-leaning version of the ACLU, as the guest.
Elad, & Phil, were the co-hosts.
I am surprised to report this episode was watchable, despite Tim being there.
Allen was given plenty of space to talk & provide his position, so it was not all the beanie boy monologuing away.
& despite the guest bringing up Israel, in passing, the panel did not get into the usual apologetics for the Jewish state.
On 13 August, Tim was absent, so Phil took up the hosting role, again.
Quite serendipitously, the night's guest was Adam King, an aggressively Jewish podcaster whose remarks made his debate partner, & recent guest of
IRL, Gavin McInnes, to
abandon him, mid-discussion. Gird your loins for this one, it was the polar opposite of the last outing.
Brett, & Tate the producer, were the co-hosts.
Thankfully, Elad was not present, either. Though I have to wonder how he would respond to his co-ethnic/religionist's positions
Clip Collection:
-Adam talks about his usual pastime of debating anti-semites. Brett compares that to
Darryl Davis trying to deradicalise white supremacists. As you shall see across this episode, if Darryl's techniques were the same as Adam's, there would have been a third revival of the Klu Klux Klan:
-Adam & Phil seem befuddled by comparisons of a solution to the Russia-Ukraine War to the current situation in the West Bank. Adam is upset that the connection was even made between the two, joking that it makes him even more intent upon creating
Greater Israel. Though the idea of a territory not being part of a neighbouring state, but subject to
slow efforts to
expand into it, & exercising
de facto control of it, despite there being
another state in
de jure possession of it. Though Tate is correct to compare this proposal to what happened in the wake of the
2008 Georgia-Russia War, where two independent states were established by Russia, on Georgian soil, under the argument of protecting minorities from abuse by their government. This was at the same time
feelers for adding Georgia & Ukraine to NATO were put out. Though funnily enough, much like the West Bank, the borders of Abkhazia, & South Ossetia, are
allegedly being slowly advanced into sovereign Georgian territory, by Russian forces. Also, Adam complains about arbitrary borders being established, outside of geographic boundaries, is a recipe for disaster. Which is ironic considering the basis for modern Israel was
arbitrary borders, disregarding geography & ethnography:
-This was where Adam became unbearable. Adam insisted that Phil have the last segment be about how
there was an actual red heifer sacrificed, clearing the way for the Jewish Messiah to return & the Third Temple to be built. Adam pushed to talk about it. Recall that for later. Originally, it was supposed to be a practice sacrifice with an unworthy bovine, but "they fooled everybody", according to Adam. He even brandishes "a dime bag" of the ashes, which can be used in healing rituals. Adam claims it cures Alzheimer's, blindness, etc. Which could have been useful, as Tim was sick & could not host. Phil asks for more information, & Adam rattles off why this counts, as well as the superiority of Jewish beliefs:
Adam bolsters this event's importance by claiming Yahyah Sinwar prematurely attacked Israel, on 7 October, out of fear of the red heifer. This leading to the devestation of Israel's enemies, allowing Adam to further support his case. However, I could find no proof of this. alleged statement by Yahyah, but there were
tangential references by Hamas spokesmen about it. Tate asks why Christians should care about this, & here Adam begins to remind me of Tim. He begins talking about how "I have come to learn" not all Christian sects see Christ as a divine manifestation & the Trinity is not widely accepted, which Tate & Serge quickly refute. Adam tries to argue that re-enacting Jewish sacrifices is the same as a battlefield re-enactment, but only Jewish events are derided. This goes on to splitting hairs on how sacrifices by Jews are not
actually like pagan sacrifices, because God merely consumes the odor of it. Which is not all that different than
Greco-Roman sacrifices, where inedible parts are the offered up, & the edible parts are consumed by the community. Tate listens, & notes that Christians see Jesus' crucifixion as the last of those types of offerings & a new covenant was formed from then on. During this exchange, Adam goes from solid confidence to retreating to claims that he is uneducated & only repeating what he was told. Adam, then, complains that "everywhere I go, like, I really love politics, & I wanna comment on politics. But
hey, the Bible!" Tate reminds Adam that he brought all this up, on his own, & insisted they cover it. Adam lamely brushes this off:
-Adam opines as to why Christians think "none of it matters" when it comes to Jewish ceremonies, like the red heifer. Tate & Serge explain how
Christ was the fulfillment of the Old Covenant, & those restrictions/requirements for ceremony are no longer needed. Adam keeps trying to tie Israel's success, & these offerings, to the return of Christ. Serge comes on camera, looking like a deep-fried nightmare, because Tim cannot maintain the equipment, I suppose. He asks Adam if the intentional importation of a red heifer, specifically bred for sacrifice, undermine the divine worth of the offering. Adam rejects this. Now, Adam decides to channel some Ian, talking about how a book he wrote about how when the Messiah comes, people shall begin unlocking telepathy, telekinesis, walking through walls, etc. When Ian talks about this, it is funny, & I sense no deception from him. But Adam simply reeks of duplicity:
Adam claims that Jews are set on "making this world heaven", not merely seeking it in the hereafter, & Hell only has an 11 month limit on how long you have to stay there. When he tries to argue that sacrifices are what make people worthy to stand before God, & Christians must do the same, Tate rebuts this, once more. But Adam takes the strawman approach, changing it to it is not required to be in communion with God. After a bit more back-&-forth, Phil moves on to super-chats:
