As Journalist, i think Tim is decent, compared to many other journalists. Something very goofy about him is how he seems to be aroused by the thought of amageddon, like he is anxiously waiting for civilization to collapse. I was dissapointed when the corona virus/ broke out, and he did not go ape/shit. It would have been fun.
He's not a "Journalist" he's a media commentator.

I want to watch this video, but the audio is absolute ass, I cant concentrate... I've never heard the volume fluctuate like this, like he's talking into a tube

Are there other youtubers who are doing well on the platform by reading entire news articles in five videos a day? or is he the only one?
Philip DeFranco springs to mind.
They both have strong personalities and even though they love to fence sit, they use arguments and voice/body language that make their takes seem either emotionally invoking or big brained. Many people have failed at trying to what they do, like mundanematt who is incredibly unlikable, and the fact that his personality isn't likeable is what caused him to fail. The only thing keeping franco and pool popular is the investment into them personally as a brand, not because their takes are hot or inventive

Nathan Rich is a former scientologist and homeless person who moved to China, got a chinese girlfriend and is now living off shilling for China. The X'es you see in his titles are to show his pro China viewers and donators how persecuted he is by Google since they supposedly demonetize his videos for talking positively about China.

He's probably more of a lolcow than Tim.

Tim has a personality?

Of course he does! He's been homeless before, he worked for Vice back when they did "real" journalism, he's part Korean, he's a skateboarding disaffected politically homeless slightly left centrist milquetoast fence sitter. Don't forget the bug out van!
Don't sell him short my dude.......he started vice newdz news!

Interesting, Rich is new to me. The clips he used, showed Tim saying China is literally trying to kill Americans. Seemed way over the top like Pool is losing it.

Does Beanie count as a personality?

Depends on if Tim controls the beanie...

...or the beanie controls Tim.

You know, I thought I would check out Tim’s channel again and... I’m thinking he is better than listening only to the regular news. So many people in my family were repeating this fake news and have no idea how ridiculous it is. I can’t watch an entire video, he reads the story and then adds a tirade of what Tim believes, not watchable but he does have a place imo. https://youtu.be/fzVzG_6jsZE

No, it just covers up the tinfoil hat that is also an integral part of his wardrobe

Although it has been months since I watched any of his "content", I remember that at the time, it was very obvious that he hadn't even bothered to read the articles ahead of time. He grabbed them based on the headlines, and then read (nearly verbatim) on camera the articles someone else had written, adding in his own (completely unsupported) opinions.

Tim is basically filling the same niche as a weather girl on a South American news broadcast, except he makes up for not having their perk of being nice to look at by vomiting up a seemingly endless stream of regurgitated content.

Yes, this does seem to be his niche. Likely people want to listen to someone read the news while doing other things and hear an alternative opinion. Pretty lucrative too, at $150k a month. What is a careercow? Someone who supplies a product people want to pay a lot of money for with little input? What are we milking here? I’m thinking this cow is going dry.
