Times when you have felt genuinely sorry for Chris

Shit, that’s a hard one.

I felt sorry for him when his dad died, obviously. And little kid Chris too.

When he was just a little kid, he used to live with his father while Barb worked elsewhere. That one always tugged at my heartstrings.

Little autistic Chris and the ol’ lumberjack. Trying his darndest and having high hopes for Chris to somehow end up as a productive member of society.

But anything else? Nah. He’s not a very good person all things considered, and most of his problems is his own fault.

Kid Chris makes me feel absolutely sorry.
His life was doomed when he was born into a home with an insane delusional hoarder and an old fashioned mad whose obsolete beliefs of mental health prevented Chris to get the help he needed.
He was only an autistic kid, maybe at the beggining he was high autistic but his parents efforts to put him into normal education made Chris descent into a well that has no bottom.
Perharps if he went to retard school he would have been the same, or maybe not. Chris was just a geeky kid and with some proper education he would have spent more time on Bob's shed, the dream factory, being taught about electronics and maybe becoming an engineer.
But we know that we are in the wrong end of his story, instead of just being a geeky man with autism, he's just a sad husk of himself.
I feel sorry for what he could have been.

Pretty much this. His parents were his biggest trolls by far. They never taught him anything about how to interact with others, shit we all learn as a child. They never taught him whats appropriate in conversations, leading to others avoiding his awkwardness(shit, it took years for his mother to point out that his attraction sign made him look like a retard). Instead to trying to instill into him that there are lessons in every failure, and I get that it can be scary letting your child out in the world to try new things and fail in order to grow, they instead sheltered him. He never had a chance to be a functioning adult, because they hamstrung any attempt at growth from the day he was born.

I wonder if he can still learn how to be more independent to any degree, but I think its far too late.

I think Chris is too much gone at this point, that's why I rate you optimistic. I agree with you that his parents should have taught him about how to be a functional person in his adulthood. But this is Borb we are talking about. Barb was the mastermind on Chris crazyness but Bob was the first one to put him into welfare instead of encouraging to look for a stable career.
He was fucked from his beginning, maybe if he didn't create Sonichu he would still be an unknown fucktard.

lol, those are good points. I don't know about sonichu though, he had a habit of broadcasting everything about himself since the 2000s, the love-quest demanded it. Even now he can't seem to help himself despite all thats happened.

Sonichu is very important to Chris's lore, you can't understand current Chris's delusions without Sonichu.
But you are right that Chris would be a lolcow with his lovequest alone. However, his parents should have cut him down the net for sharing his powerlevel.
Moving on, I felt bad for Chris when he cried on an unreleased video of him crying for his dead dad.

If you look at the earliest videos of him he was a much different, much more innocent, person. He had a dysfunctional upbringing where he was by turns coddled and ignored, which resulted in him failing to understand basic social norms. Chris needed a lot of help very early on, and he didn't get it. This is where the shit like the attraction sign and his weird rage against Mary Lee Walsh come from. This is a person who legitimately just didn't understand what he was doing, and then he felt victimized for (in his eyes) trying to find love. I think that's something people miss, Chris is often creepy, but it's because he legitimately doesn't understand where the line between awkward and creepy is in the first place, then he gets defensive when he is shit on for it.

I think Bob and Barb tried to the best of their abilities with Chris, but neither of them were cut out for the challenge that is raising an autistic child into a functional adult. Neither of them were functional adults, you can't teach something you yourself don't know. Chris grew up surrounded by squalor and mental illness. He needed somebody willing to be by turns firm and compassionate with him. In practice he got neither. The impression I get is that Borb's major contribution to Chris's mental and social development was imparting their own neurosis and paranoia onto him.

Then the internet found him, picked up on this naivety, and ruthlessly exploited it. And it worked. Again and again, because this is a mentally ill person with autism who barely understands reality as a concept and grew up in a real life version of fucking Gummo. It wasn't hard. In the process an already volatile personality got thrown into complete and utter chaos, something that only got worse as time went on. These days I have no problem saying Chris needs to be in an institution.

Every Christorian should watch Gummo, its just as disturbing as the Chris sagas.

This might be kind of a controversial opinion, but I honestly believe that Chris would be even worse off without Sonichu/trolls.

(It’s not like he’d be happily married or have anything resembling a normal life with no Sonichu.)

And remember Chris’s giant ego. He was raised to believe that he’s special, talented and deserving of recognition.

Without Sonichu, Chris would just be a regular tard like any other. (Probably uploading videos to a YouTube nobody watched.)

Sonichu and trolls at least allows him the delusion of being kind of a big deal. He gets attention, his artwork is “sought after” and brings in money. People interact and respond to him.

Oddly enough he's been successful as an artist. There's a demand for his work, regardless of the intentions behind it.

But has it truly been worth it to have his whole life be on the defense against the army of "trolls"? Only Chris can tell. Not saying he'd have friends and a better life if he didn't do artwork, but his Internet fame has certainly exacerbated his sense of being constantly attacked.

I have to agree. Without his internet notoriety he'd have little worthwhile to sell consistently. His medallions is constructive, and nobody would want CRAYOLA FUCKING MODEL MAGIC in the shape of a pikachu if they didn't know who he was.

In the bigger picture, with his failing mental health, there would be nobody keeping an eye on him. His living situation would be worse off because nobody would be aware of his deteriorating situation. At least these days, with so many eyes on him, people can keep an eye on him to make sure he can keep food in his belly and a roof over his head via the novelty of trolls wanting to own something he made. He'd have had more run-ins with the law if he got desperate enough because he's horrible with finances and poor restraint.

I felt for him when I saw the Toomanygames video. I wouldn't say I hate him, I'm kinda ambivalent towards him, but I felt for him. Dude just needed a break from Barb and wanted to have fun but his lack of understanding personal boundaries got him booted, not some malevolent intent. I kinda want someone to go with him next time he wants to go to a con just to constantly remind him on how to interact with his fans, a superviser of sorts. He did some shitty things, but he's sick and needs help. A little dose of positive experiences in the real world would be a small step in him getting better mentally.

Re: Spending his life on the defense against trolls, if Chris wanted to it wouldn’t be that hard to get rid of the trolling. (At least back then.)

Just stay offline, or at least only passively consume the web.

If we look back through Christory, there was a time where he (almost!) did just that. The whole “online socialization is bad, mkay” stage.

For a long ass time, Christoric content dried to a trickle, and the only few tidbits we got were leaks from his FB that Chris only invited a few people unto.

(If he had managed to stay off FB completely, there would have been virtually nothing.)

And ultimately Chris chose to end his self imposed e-exile. To what degree it was a conscious decision I’m not sure, but to some extent he must have felt that it’s better to get attention, and trolling attempts, than a quiet offline life with zero attention and validation.

Retard school isn't the cure for Chris's tardness that people seem to think it would have been. Another iconic autismcow who started embarrassing himself around the same time as Chris, ADF-Fuensalida, was sent to a retard school where practical skills were emphasised over the traditional curriculum. End result? He can't do anything besides draw maps of fictional places and sit for shitty tattoos, and he also doesn't know anything from the traditional curriculum either. He's had training on how to get by in society while being retarded, he just forgot all of it the second he left school and is now stumped by a complete lack of any social graces, self-awareness and ability to manage his autism symptoms. Chris would have been exactly the same.

Retard school wouldn't have stopped Chris having a crippling video game addiction, or thinking he's such hot shit that nothing about him can possibly be improved, or uploading his garbage webcomic that got the attention of 4chan in the first place.

In my experience, people who are creepy about trying to find love or a relationship never think they are being creepy and are always hurt by rejection or their awkwardness being pointed out

The last time I genuinely felt sorry for Chris was in the immediate aftermath of the Idea Weens incident, where Null tried to pull Chris aside and explain to him that no one else should be tampering with his thoughts or trying to rewrite his mind. Something about needing to have that explained is unspeakably sad.

Given how hard Chris has doubled down on letting people victimize him since then, my governing philosophy has long since become:
If he gets raped, he gets raped.

It's only gonna get worse sadly.
A 10 years old autistic sperg is kinda cute and quirky in some way.
A 20 year old sperg is worrysome.
But past 30 it's straight up patetic.
The last stretch of Chris's life will be pretty dire.I will keep an eye on it like a lot of us tho.
Liquid Chris is really the version of Chris we all wanted. Wish he would leave the internet "on top" by his own volition like his alter ego but we all know it's gonna end with an obituary web page with Chis's name on it.
