I will never understand why people donate to Phil. Maybe they like him, maybe they're young, but I feel it's to stick it to us for some reason. All they're doing is paying to keep the internets punching bag alive for our entertainment.

Some people are just dumb and genuinely enjoy him for whatever reason, but I think this is actually a pretty small percentage of his fanbase. I think Tut and E7 fell under this category. Others are trolls who are hoping to get a reaction from either DSP or Tevin or some other community. I think another percentage project onto Phil. Most people love a good underdog story and want to be part of a narrative where they are helping an average Joe hard working person beat the odds and succeed despite a shady cabal trying to keep said underdog down. Nobody really cares about Phil himself, just that made up narrative. I think that's part of why so many of his fans spend time on detractor sites or talking about random detractor stuff/telling Phil to stick it to the detractors.

Even on the non-mod side, you'll see a lot of fans calling for people to be banned or starting minor slapfights to try and elevate themselves.

I've felt the same way. His "fans" seem to just dislike us more than like phil. If it weren't for us phil would have been walking dogs for a living. like we're missing something, tut, viking, E7, the guy who donated 1k. Besides viking those others were relatively unknown before donating. I just get the feeling some skeevy credit fraud is going on to support the pig.

(for every dollar tip he only gets ~70 cents after PayPal's cut). It only lead to more people sending dollar tips until just a few moments ago a fan sent 100 buckaroos.
