Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

Pretty sure the only "diversity" the CEO actually cared about was hiring white guys fresh out of college that he could underpay.

The team behind groversub seems to have roughly the same gender and ethnic diversity as Challenger Deep (i.e. mostly white dudes).

Not white guys but young white women who were young, naive and fresh out of the University of Washington. Looking at photos of the young women in his company it becomes clear why he hired them other than he can underpay them due to their inexperience. Not uncommon for billionaire horndogs to hire young and attractive women that they can eye hump while on the job. Saudi oil sheiks do that all the time.

You're all wrong, this is the optimal sub driving equipment

Hey @Celebrate Nite:

looooooooooooooool

Could have been a bunch of rednecks too and everyone would be pointing and laughing too. This is very much a stupid game gives stupid rewards situation except with a submarine.
Q: What's the last thing a redneck ever says?
A: "Hold my beer and watch this!"

Q: What's the last thing a redneck ever hears?
A: "YER DOIN' IT!!"

in this case, I guess "redneck" = "dumbfuck billionaire"

what i find pretty funny is everyone collectively shitting on the 5 people who went on this trip but if i had a shitload of money that i got from insider trading, trading children around, fucking people over and working for blackrock, i'd probably do something similar but i wouldn't be retarded enough to allow myself to get in a tincan.

Y'know, their site's apparently down when I went to check if this was actually real, but if so I give them points for optimism

I can respect the optimism that these dipshits think they'll actually be able to hire someone, nevermind that the company is going to survive.
Hats off to the first random person to apply for the CEO position and their resume is just "Can't be any worse than the last guy."

What I don't get is that it looks like they actually went down there from some of the promo footage of the sub. Either they swapped out with a dif sub or robot to film that shit or the few dives they've done they never bothered checking on the condition afterwards.

Wither way fucking hilarious how this blew up because of a retard boomer CEO.
They've done over 20 dives with a sub the manufacturer only thought was meant for a single dive.
Repeated stress cycles + extreme cold + insane pressure are the worst things for carbon fiber.
Like Cameron said we use steel for a fucking reason.
It was only a matter of time before the thing imploded.
The fucking porthole was only rated to 1300 meters.
Titanic is 3800.
It's a miracle it lasted as long as it did.
This faggot took the RMS Diversity 3 times deeper than it ever should have gone and he did it more than 20 times more than he should. The only upside is he took a Globohomo Paki who made billions from slave labor with him to hell when his high tech carbon fiber coffin performed as expected.

The only thing that's held back development on autonomous robotic sentry guns is ethical issues (lol like it's anymore ethical to get your nuts shot off by a kid with a joystick than a robot) not technology, the idea of giving robots the power to shoot without a human at the controls.
There's no reason we couldn't build them, you'd need to give your own guys IFF transponders so they don't get shot by your own sentries, or just have them set to deny areas and keep your guys out.
We can build self driving cars and drones, having a gun track targets and take them out is nothing.

And then someone decides to use the game Watch Dogs as a manual to hack into the turrets and swap IFF's around. Or Skynet wakes up and does it

Or all of the various supernations build their respective supercomputers to monitor their own munitions and people until the ends of time or boredom sets in first. Can machines learn to become bored? Or is hiding the canned foods in the ice caves just played out now?

"Why would rich fucks do this?"

This is the exact same as rednecks seeing a bunch of dudes offering bungee jumping in the middle of nowhere. Does it put their life in mortal danger? Yes. Do they inspect what their life depends on? No. The only assurance that they don't die is "It worked the last few times".

Most people wouldn't pay a few bucks in a third world country to jump from such a height. But enough people do.
