He has the opportunity to do the funniest thing possible.
>the industry to totally safe now guize!
Honestly, while its unlikely, I cant help but think of that part from cruelty squad where people are intentionally sent to their death as a sacrifice to demons.Or maybe he just wants to commit suicide and make national news while doing so (not with a bang, but with a fwoop
it would be a god tier troll to intentionally ram into a sharp rock just to solidify the companies bad rep. Doubt a millionaire would, but it would be funnyHe has the opportunity to do the funniest thing possible.
I think in general the amount of information that we've now heard about the Oceangate sub seems to indicate it was by no means top of the line.ohio ceo
On a more serious note, if I had to play devil's advocate, the only possible thought process I can come up with is "they tested it, now they know its limits" (morbid as it may be). Or maybe he just wants to commit suicide and make national news while doing so (not with a bang, but with a fwoop).
At this point it's bragging rights. Going to space is heavily regulated and a complex hurdle, but they can use their money to get a sub to get to the Titanic easily. Why are all these billionaires going down to where the Titanic sank in the first place, despite the apparent great personal peril involved?
There must be treasure down there.
With enough of money, you can still hire 50-year-old White guys. The biggest obstacle in deep sea exploration is money, which isn’t an issue for him.
I'd guess that when money and wealth for a billionaire loses all value, these are some of the only ways those poor sods can still enjoy anything in life. Why are all these billionaires going down to where the Titanic sank in the first place, despite the apparent great personal peril involved?
There must be treasure down there.
But Uncle Scrooge... shouldn't we commission Triton Labs, who have experience in crafting deep sea submersibles, and not Gyro Gearloose, who wants to do it for cheap? Why are all these billionaires going down to where the Titanic sank in the first place, despite the apparent great personal peril involved?
There must be treasure down there.
No, you're 100% right. Test pilots often have to give their lives to discover the functional limits of machines like this Budget Deathcocoon. Why, they would be wasting that precious data collected on the initial voyage where all those rich retards died. I bet you money they made that argument when greenlighting this follow-up voyage. On a more serious note, if I had to play devil's advocate, the only possible thought process I can come up with is "they tested it, now they know its limits" (morbid as it may be).
James Cameron went down the Mariana Trench, much deeper than titanic’s depth. E we 100% have safe, tested, and proven submersible design. But none of them are made from more than one contiguous metal casing and none use carbon fiber. Stockton Rush looked at the submersible industry and thought to himself “what if we fucked with the design and made it mostly carbon fiber??” This is why the moron died, not because of submersible depth. It’s a single person submersible which is a proven concept. So while dangerous, there are designs and vessels available to someone with unlimited money.
