Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

It’s a shame we got aware of Stockton Rush too late. Seems like kind of a lolcow.

This is a pointless comment, but a while ago in a casual conversation the sub came up and I said something like , "What was his name, Stockton Rush?" And everyone treated me like I was an idiot saying a retarded fake name. Well one person was like, "I think he's right" but got talked over.

People like to talk big, like they're all idiots. They were. Having said that, there's a part of me that wonders if given the choice I would have been on that submarine. I would like to think no, but I can't rule it out.

Has anyone seen that White Island documentary? Of the people touring an active volcano in New Zealand that exploded killing a bunch of people. It's retarded to be walking around that, but I 100% know if I was there and given the chance at the time. I would have been walking around it.

There's a difference between living and being alive. Go do your dangerous shit, more power to you. Nobody worth anything will shit on you for it. Look at Lord Miles for example.

'All good here': Titan sub crew's last words before implosion

(archive)

tl;dr a formal inquiry into the destruction of the Titan, which outlines a litany of issues plaguing the sub* and the company.

Also included this picture of the sub's tail section on the ocean floor.

* Apparently, at least once, the fucking front fell off.

The hearing is a brilliant watch so far. The first day was the engineering director Tony Nissan basically responsible for the Titan. He was very shifty and trying to avoid blame, understandably so.

The second day was David Lochridge, director of operations - he was kicked off the Titan project after declaring it a death trap, and his testimony is hilarious. He’s a bit smug about it but 1000% in the right and really puts the boot in.

New footage from the debris field from todays hearing. This includes the 2 domes.
the front is the one all by itself. The rear still has a piece of the hull attached and whatever was inside rammed up into it.

I saw one expert testifying that from his examination of the debris he believes the glue seal attaching the front titanium ring to the carbon fiber hull, failed catastrophically all the way around. The connection surface on the titanium ring was blasted completely “surgically” clean, and the inner lip of titanium was sheared cleanly off around the entire ring.

They did not find the window. But believe it was blown outward intact, and was not the point of failure.

Edit; A little more footage with some discussion by our friend "What's Going On With Shipping's" Sal Mercoglio

Amazing they were able to find anything resembling human remains based off this footage.

Shit, imagine throwing the controller AT THE GUY WHOS SUPPOSED TO BE THE EXPERT, because you managed to jam your submersible into a wreck.

What an unhinged retard. Stockton Rush was clearly an undiscovered cow!

That controller is the size of a pea now.
Just wondering: What would be left of a corpse down there. Not talking about after a year, but immediately after?

After a cursory google search, your flesh is charred due to rapid heating followed by your bodily fluids and soft tissues becoming a fine red mist that will dissipate into the surrounding ocean. That will then be consumed by a littany of microscopic marine organisms.
