Titpee / This is Thin Privilege - Morbidly Obese HAES Tumblrinas

They'd rather bitch and be talked about than be happy and just fade away.

That's TITP's real mission statement - we want to be constantly in your face, demanding you find us attractive.

my favourite part about these people is when they equate fatshaming with racism and homophobia. because ive totally heard so much about mcdonalds regulars getting executed in russia

They're mostly privileged sheltered babies whose biggest struggle is finding clothes the right size.
Of course any little inconvenience is basically JUST LIKE GENOCIDE OMG to them.

Why the fuck would they think it's okay to discourage somebody who wants to better themselves and get healthier? Don't they know that living a healthy lifestyle is kind of useful if you want to live longer and other minor things like that? How can they not see how retarded they are when they do that? I don't want to believe they honestly think it's entirely justified and that they discourage fat people out of good will. I'm sure it's more about something like "Oh if I'm ugly and unhealthy, then you should be too, so there's one less person who feels better and looks better than I do!"

That, and because a key part of their narrative is that weight loss is impossible, so all the bad things associated with being fat aren't their fault. The logic goes like this:
  • Losing weight is possible.
  • It is possible to control my own weight.
  • If I'm fat, it's because of my own choices.
  • If I'm fat, it's my own fault.
  • If being fat is my fault, then whatever unhappiness associated with being fat is self-inflicted.

They call it "concern trolling". Intervening on someone's addiction disease is a prideful act meant to shame and oppress.

The Thin Privilege movement is such a disgusting farce. Nobody would take a krokodil advocate seriously. I'm waiting for the day when obesity is treated with the same disdain and public health regulation as cigarettes.

I doubt that even happened. And if it did, who eats 12 cakes alone?
people like that (who made that post about being fatshamed about the cakes) probably thinks thisiswhyyouarefat dot com is a hate site :P

Does this person not own an inhaler? Powerlevel but I know someone who builds damn buildings and as long as she uses her inhaler she can do just fine.

I bet its another "self diagnosis" in the case that they magically cant get any sort of one.

It's MadGastronomer, who is a lolcow in and of herself. The very idea of people being able to lose weight makes her sperg right the fuck out.

Ugh. I do believe in fatphobia. I also believe in HAES...to a point. I've known athletes that were 300, 350 pounds, and no, it wasn't all muscle. And these people still get read as fat slobs even though they are completely healthy and active. BUT anything above that, and you've got a fucking problem. The human body is not meant to go above a certain weight, and if it does, it is completely unrealistic to think that it won't put a strain on the heart, lungs, etc. It is not possible to be 400, 500, 600 pounds and be healthy. It's just not.

And you know what? If you are 600 + pounds and happy about it? Fine. I don't care. It's your body, if you want to destroy it, that's your prerogative. If cramming your mouth with pies and sitting on your ass genuinely makes you feel fulfilled and happy, bully for you.

But what I HATE is these people who are deluding themselves. "I'm 5o0 pounds with bad knees and sleep apnea, but I'm completely healthy!" No. You're not. "I'm 628 and people assume I eat like a pig, but I really don't!" Yes, you do. "I'm 750 and bedbound and I hate my life!" Then fucking do something about it and stop demanding that whoever's taking care of you keep bringing you food. I've seen people have gastric bypass surgery and completely blow it by refusing to follow the doctor's dietary orders, and then wailing about how nothing ever works for them. I've seen others moaning about how now they're stuck at home forever and they don't know how they got this big, and then whining about how their dinner is too small. Do what you fucking want, but don't be in denial about what you're doing to yourself, and take personal fucking responsibility for your choices.

Haven't read the whole thread yet but I just wanted to say my piece here:
Of course going on a diet won't work if they're talking about those retarded fad diets where you only eat protein shakes two or three times a day. You have to eat healthy, balanced meals with smaller portions. You have to eat whole grains, and various fruits and vegetables. And above all, you have to exercise. At least twenty to thirty minutes a day of jogging or biking or lifting weights, etc. Don't go too fast at first, and instead pace yourself.
Holy shit, it's only common fucking sense.

Edit: fixed a couple mistakes in grammar and spelling (damn you, autocorrect).
