Today, I was able to figure out how to remove and clean the lawn mower's carb. Unfortunately, the issue I had came back when I was cutting the lawn afterwards. Win some, lose some. *sigh*
Check (or add) a fuel filter and flush out the lines and tank. It sounds like you cleared a clog and a new one showed up.

I'm suspecting the gas might have gone stale despite having stabilizer in it. Still, I'll keep this in mind when I work on the mower this weekend. Ironic part is that I had the shop tune it up during the spring.

Today, my neighbor and I took another look at the mower and I (we) have learned that a broken air vane appears to be what's causing the problems. Neighbor rigged up a temporary fix and I'll be ordering a replacement part this week.

Had an appointment with my employment agency. Unfortunately, just going back to work like a normal person isn't an option for me, and I can't go back to laboratory work either, so I'm going to need accommodations etc. Went food shopping afterwards, every day the dollar falls shorter and shorter. I don't know anyone who isn't hurting right now.

Today while walking in the neighbourhood I saw a man get out of a car with what I thought was a brown cat. It was clearly an animal that didn’t want to be held so I immediately thought, “oh that guy is wrestling a cat sucks for him”.
Got closer to the guy and saw it was not a cat he was holding but a fucking monkey on a leash. Wish I could’ve stopped to talk to him.

Today I slept until late in the evening. Pretty uneventful. Yesterday was good though. Got invited to a friend of a friend's place to watch Riverfire. The apartment was up high so we had a perfect view of the Story Bridge, there was a fireworks barge on the river directly below us, and we could also see the other firework barges, and the fireworks on the various skyscrapers lining the river. Pretty much the perfect position to see the fireworks, and it was spectacular. The show itself wasn't as good as previous years though; there was only an early evening fireworks show rather than two shows with the second at midnight, the fireworks themselves were pretty unsophisticated, and I think there were maybe three barges total on the river. There was a drone show, but that was at Southbank only.

There's a lot of money pouring into construction and civic works right now because Brisbane is hosting the Olympics in 2032, so I'm guessing we've got ten more years of politicians' pet projects sucking up funding from anything else. Really sucks though.

EDIT: a word

Today I looked in the fridge after the housemate came home from the supermarket, and discovered nine tubs of yogurt, for a grand total of 7.5kg. That's nearly two gallons of yogurt for you americunts. Apparently this is what he plans to have for dinner every night for the next few weeks.

The housemate frequently tells me he feels tired, run down, and always sick. I usually ask whether he's been eating properly, and that's the point where he mutters a few unintelligible words and goes to bed.

Maybe he was one of those monkey torture dudes.

Sometimes I go on a yogurt jag. When I get a lot, though, it's something like unsweetened Greek yogurt. It's a solid protein. Then I sweeten it with fruit puree with no sugar added, sometimes something like nutritional yeast (for B-12 and tons of other good B vitamins), or some honey, or mix it with granola, or all of the above, and something like a concentrated ginger extract.

Today I learned that there is a severe worldwide shortage of ADHD meds, and that mine in particular won't be available until the end of the year at least.

I'm freaking out. I can't function without this shit. If I try to go back to work without it it'll be a absolute fucking disaster. I'm not safe to drive without it. I have a week and a half left of meds and after that I'm well and truly fucked.

Today I have thought about jerking off all day but I actually didn't. I just played warhammer 2 and AC6 today.
