I think it was a pdf file which had the series of pictures of the girl...
If that's the case, the documents should say that. Also, if that's the case, the fact that an entire series of images were contained in a single file wouldn't somehow make legally only a single image or warrant only a single charge.
...in fact one of the reports stated that all the pictures except for one in that series were child pornography.
I don't doubt that the entire series or the single, specific image the documents state was discovered on his drive constitute legitimate child pornography.
However, since it was one victim in the one series, perhaps that's why they charged him with one count. However, even with the one count, they can mention the 1,000s of virtual child porn, his stories, and other stuff as collaborating evidence even if they are legal. An example would be if you threaten a building with a pipe bomb, they take your computers, and find evidence you searched and downloaded how to build a pipe bomb. While searching how to build a bomb isn't illegal in itself, it's collaborating evidence when combined with the threat.
While I disagree with your assertion that legal anime/lolicon, even if highly objectionable or obscene in the eye of a beholder, or his sex doll fetish is
corroborate evidence that he sought out what is described as a single, specific image of child pornography, I'm sure the State of IL will try to make exactly that case.
Another problem of course is Todd lies all the time, and you know this Uncle Buck as fact. So we really don't know what the government has against him as he only publishes bits and parts of discovery and not all of it. But if what Todd says is remotely true, then he has the worst public defender in history and as I have said over and over, his parents couldn't afford NOT to hire a real lawyer, who would have perhaps had this over with in a month instead of 20 months and counting if what Todd is saying is true.
Again, I will title this
SPECULATION: Todd's parents are sick of him and, even if they don't want to admit it, probably feel that jail
may be the best thing for him. Which is probably very shortsighted, but his parents are elderly and have been putting up with him for decades and they probably reached the end of their rope a while ago.
And Todd's worst enemy isn't me or others, it's himself. He doesn't know when to shut up. From the time he was arrested in 2018 to now, he just keeps talking himself into trouble, from refusing stay silent in March 2018 police interrogation and onwards. I think it makes him feel better or something.... What has happened to Todd is because of one reason, Todd Daugherty himself.
So, much like in Riley Hollingsworth's ridiculous Dayton speech where he took amateurs to task for criticizing him for not enforcing Part 97 rules against FCC-licensed operators misbehaving on the problem frequency of 14.275 [because, you know, he wasn't the
Special Counsel for Amateur Radio
Enforcement, or anything] and telling them that rather than complain to him they should quit driving through "bad neighborhoods" if they're tired of people vandalizing their vehicles [which is pretty much the same as saying women shouldn't wear "provocative" clothing if they don't want to get raped], you're assigning blame to Todd for, among other things, not reacting well when people publish threats in his name then report him to authorities so they can laugh at his plight?
I can agree with you that Todd says a lot of dumb things.
I can also agree with you that he engages poorly with the police. And you're right in that he should have simply exercised his right to remain silent in 2018; it's not like he
wasn't going to get tossed in County lockup or anyone actually cared about what he said or the fact that it was clear what sort of website NIMbusters was to anyone who cared to do even the slightest bit of investigative work.
After all, it was just the town "retard"; who cares if he spends a month or so in jail on a hoax complaint?
He "deserves" it, after all, for reacting badly when people harass him, right?
It might be convenient to blame that on the fact that Todd, unlike the majority of persons rightly ridiculed on this website, is
legitimately cognitively or developmentally impaired, but that would be to dismiss the fact that
most people who have been a fifteen+ year target of harassment by degenerate bullies and gang-stalkers over something as ridiculous as an amateur radio slap fight would
probably have a very negative reaction.
Now my speculation not based on anything. I don't think the FBI ever did a deep search of his computer.
I agree. In fact, I don't believe
any investigative agency involved in this racket
ever actually performed a forensic investigation of any sort, least of all the one they were
supposed to perform - the one to find evidence proving Todd posted the school shooting "threat".
I think they found the child porn out in the open...
I'm not sure how you're defining "out in the open". Does that mean right there in the C: root directory? I highly doubt it.
I don't know what their justification was nor their reasoning, but what I believe they did, rather than actually look for any proof that he was the person who posted the threat [which was their actual mandate], is perform a simple search of the device. They probably went through his "Pictures" or "Downloads" folders and sub-directories until they found something "offensive" in the form of anime/lolicon [the "obscene" image of the "three to five year old child with an adult male's penis in
his mouth" they later seemingly forgot all about after using it as the basis for a warrant - two years later because, you know, Todd is such an immediate danger to children], then did a search using File Explorer for filenames from known "series" of child pornography discovered in other investigations and either found the single, specific image from a series of known pornographic images of a "prepubescent female...under a blanket" who was, then, a known fifteen year old exploitation victim.
And the "best" part about it is if you read the full warrant application, their disdain for citizens' rights to be safe from unreasonable searches is so absolute they explicitly state that they didn't even believe they needed to seek out a warrant to do what they did. And, sure, I know for you this is all about the lulz, but even you have to be bothered by that.
And yes, it is incredibly stupid of him to keep running unsecured computers hosting websites and other stuff he doesn't understand... And he still does it. I can see all kinds of unsecured files on his computer right now as I type this.
Which further lends credence to the possibility that any illicit material they may have found on his device got there not as a result of him seeking it out or unknowingly downloading it as part of a torrent [which is what I believe is the most likely scenario] but was placed there by someone seeking to create just the situation Todd now finds himself in - all for their own perverse lulz.
I don't think they are one, I do however think they have a hard time understanding words.
If nothing else I understand the singular "image" - you know, what the same documents you imagine support your position actually say - as opposed to the plural "images", which puts me ahead of a dunce like you.
