Gonna second this. In lieu of Todd himself being considered a lolcow focusing moreso on him and all of his peers as a collective would probably make more sense.
It goes to show that many reviewers on YouTube, especially music reviewers, are cringe. This is also evident with big ones like him as well as Anthony Fagtano

I never watched Todd's review of Rich Men North of Richmond because his politics heavy stuff generally sucks but hearing him talk about it in the top 10 worst song list it's kinda jarring how much of a dickhead he comes off as. Despite Oliver Anthony denouncing right wingers co-opting his song and Todd probably sharing similar views with 90% of the song. That one line about people abusing welfare is enough for Todd to declare Oliver Anthony as irredeemable. It's so dumb too because even if you fully support the welfare system you should still be able to acknowledge that there are people out there who abuse it and that is a problem. Also Todd trying to subtly imply that Oliver is talking about black people with that line, that is a poor reflection on you Todd. You are the one making that connection, not him.

I have the feeling that Todd is pro-BLM

You guys arguing about the biggest music sperg in YouTube and not mentioning Brad Taste in Music smh.
he's a junkie that actively doesn't know anything about music made before 2004, and will continue to get eaten by his ultraleftie fanbase until he dies. that's all there is to say about him.

I cannot stand just how much of a stereotypical bully Todd continues to be. He's always bullying child artists (such as Justin Bieber back when everybody and their goddamn dogs where shitting on him because everyone are petty bullies, and insulting the shit out of then-9-year-old Willow Smith for "Whip My Hair"--and he even has the gall to say "And yes, I will make fun of a 9-year-old child, try and stop me". Yeah, well, I wish the rest of the Smiths stopped you, you child-hating faggot), and what really pissed me right the fuck off was his double review of "Lucid Dreams" by Juice WRLD and "Better Now" by Post Malone.

He criticizes Juice for not knowing what lucid is in the context of Lucid Dreams, and he notes that at the time he was 19 years old, and proceeds to call him an infant. I never felt so furious in my life. I am so sick and tired of him continuing to be a cynical Boomer bully like that. Ever since Juice's death that happened a year after the review, this makes it more infuriating in hindsight. It also doesn't help that when he listed the song in his "Top 10 Worst Songs of 2018 list", Todd called Juice "a mainstream version of XXXTentacion"—months after the latter died as well. So now we can add disrespecting the recently deceased to the list. I will never understand why I'm always the only person to call people like him out while everyone else does nothing.
I take great offense at some of the reactions here. I'm not mad at the Internet, I'm mad at shitty reviewers being hateful for the sake of being hateful. There's no lunacy here, it's just honesty. I'm just spitting facts.

Regarding Todd's ethnicity: in the beginning of this thread, it has been stated that he is half Irish and half Vietnamese. I do recall that in an old Tweet of his, he stated that his mother emigrated from Mali, meaning that he might also be part-Black as well. That explains a lot about reacting negatively to Black stereotypes (such as his one part in his Cinemadonna review of "The Next Best Thing", tuning out of U2's "Rattle and Hum" after the moment that Bono visually compares himself to MLK Jr.--listed as the #1 worst moment of the film--and taking offense to the Morgan Wallen's "shouting a drunken racial slur in an ignorantly friendly way" incident.

I think that one was more because of getting egg on his face. He hyped up Morgan Wallen a lot when he put "More Than My Hometown" at #1 on his best songs of 2020 list, talking about how he was gonna be this big megastar and the world was his oyster in decade to come...and then the video came out not long after. For me, all his talk about Morgan Wallem is him telling Morgan: "I went to bat for you. I told every how great you were with that album you put out, and you turn ou to be a piece of shit".

tuning out of U2's "Rattle and Hum" after the moment that Bono visually compares himself to MLK Jr.--listed as the #1 worst moment of the film-

Maybe you’re right, but I can also think that it could just be a reaction to Bono being an egotistical douche.

That explains a lot about reacting negatively to Black stereotypes (such as his one part in his Cinemadonna review of "The Next Best Thing",
Probably, but way back when, Todd would REALLY play up his shadow aspect and would make a bunch of claims about his ethnicity (subtitled with “As far as YOU KNOW”). That could have just been a bit.

Kind of funny you mention Willow Smith, considering Todd put Willow at #1 in his Best Songs of 2021 list.

#1. THE ANXIETY, Willow, Tyler Cole - "Meet Me At Our Spot"[29]

I've seen some weird comebacks. I lived through the Mike Posner revival.

: But I don't think I've witnessed a single one more surprising than...

Todd (VO): ...Willow Smith. The former child start best known for "Whip My Hair", one of the most obnoxious jackhammers of a song ever written. But shockingly, music was not just something that was forced on her by her celebrity parents, but an actual, genuine interest of hers.

And so, 11 years after her first hit, she managed to re-invent herself in young-adulthood as a badass punk rocker. Not only shattering her image. But also...

...changing the face of this genre. For a long time, we assumed that being a pop-punker meant being a certain demographic.

: And Willow proved that you can play punk rock even if you are...

...stupefyingly rich.

But while she did make great music this year, the true gem for me came from a year earlier. When she dropped a side project named THE ANXIETY with her boyfriend, Tyler Cole. It went unnoticed at the time, but was given a second chance by, yes, TikTok.

Boy, am I grateful for that. "Meet Me At Our Spot" is... I'm just kinda stunned by it.

: It feels fitting that I started this list with Olivia and I ended with Willow, because both songs are about how being young sucks.

You hear old people missing their youth, like "Oh, if only I had that energy again".

Bullshit. Being young is sleeping all the fucking time, you're just awake at all the wrong fucking hours. And also, you're exhausted all the time by everything because you don't know what the hell you're doing.

What "Meet Me At Our Spot" makes feel good about being young is the idea that you still have your future.

Speaking personally, I have no faith that anything will ever be good ever again. Like, "Whoo, get ready for Pandemic: Year 3, everyone".

But I am touched by that level of innocence and optimism.

: Like, yeah, it will get better. Or it won't, no one knows. But there is something kinda magical about the song.

Like, in an extremely stressful time to be alive, there's just something... very comforting about having a spot to get away to and be tipsy with someone you love. And shut the world down and still have your entire future to look forward to.

And who else better than to sell that optimism than Willow Smith.

This is the girl who made fucking "Whip My Hair". Now she's one of the best artists of the year.

If she can do it, maybe we all can do it. I mean, granted, we don't all have that Will Smith money coming after us. But, if she can go from that to here, maybe there's something better coming for all of us.

Dear God, this song's fucking good.

I forget who, but someone on KF recently referenced a review of "Sweetest Pie" where Todd was acting confused at how one drove a pie, and that it made him just look like he couldn't pick up on an obvious "this singer likes cowgirl" reference.
Wow, what a fucking idiot. Both he and the Rap Critic, as well as other similar ones formerly of Channel Hackjob. I didn't know about that because I stopped in the middle of that review because he'd rather bitch about the music video director's videos (including ripping on the shitty effects for the video to Creed's "One Last Breath" because God fucking forbid that decomposed dead horse of a band stops being beat in 2022) rather than just jump straight into the video.

It's good to know that after all these years, Todd's work ethic is still as top notch as it ever was.
Had to get the worst list out before January. Best list is lower priority as less people are going to watch it. It could be worse like being the Rap Critic. He just half assed the worst lyrics of the year videos with the first part having him go on and on about race with the Doja Cat and the Jack Harlow sections and the second part only being 8 minutes because of the preview and telling people to subscribe to his Patreon and ko-fi and the credits. It's better for Todd to take his time and make a good video than going to obscurity because he's been halfassing his videos for a long time like the Rap Critic.

Here you go. It goes on for over 4 minutes with him first talking about Doja Cat supproting Sam Hyde then talking about Jack Harlow.
Todd has some very liberal boomer political take who can't even keep up with the times. :story:
