As of now, Todd's homophobic hitpiece attacking James Somerton is still up and monetized on YouTube. I think it's safe to say that Todd not only feels no remorse for, but actively delights in, the part he played in this sickening hate crime that directly caused a gay man's death. Cancellation when?

It's just so absurd because if you accept the premise that Oklahoma's Superintendent of Schools was somehow completely responsible for this girl getting killed (no reasoning offered, they just want to believe that's true and thus accept it unquestioningly), then Todd/Hbomberguy are much, much more responsible for Somerton's death (if he has actually died).

The Todd video was interesting because it was clearly coordinated to deliver a crushing blow and wasn't really needed. He's liked a couple music tweets but that's it - maybe he's actually being smart and waiting before saying anything?

Nope. Todd had a choice, to either be better than or poisoned by those who he willingly surrounds himself with. He's dipped his toe in lolcowdom before with Gamergate and CTC; how he handles this situation (the Nebupocalypse or what ever better name is coined) will determine whether the line has been irrevocably crossed.

Also, I don’t remember him doing much with #ChangeTheChannel, just joining the mass exodus since it gave him a reason to execute his plan he had for a while to leave TGWTG if memory serves.
 
Today, he's avoided the Somerton topic entirely and stayed in his lane talking about movies and music. Best option really.

Throw alarm clocks at me if you want, but I thought I'd add my two cents on his best/worst list for 2023.

I actually used to enjoy those lists like 10+ years ago. Now they're just unwatchable. This time round they were so bad I couldn't even finish them.

He used to seem much more sincere and enthusiastic the stuff in the Top 10, but now it all follows a very predictable formula: one or two country songs (which he always apologizes for including); some obscure, ultra-trashy female rapper; something gay; some Kpop or Latino music; and some basic bitch pop hits. Always the same. The worst hits video is always just an excuse for him to feel morally superior and shit on people who don't have the right opinions. About half the point is shoving his political opinions in his audience's faces.

I think it's burnout doing this stuff for over a decade. Pop Music got real boring in 2013 hence why he started doing One Hit Wonderland that year. The guy is pretty stuck in his position doing these videos about Pop Music with no real exit plan. Pop Culture has just become more tedious with the political and moral righteousness that has been infused in it more and more as time has gone on. It could be worse for him considering he does make a pretty penny on his Patreon while other former CA members like Uncle Linky have stagnate and are struggling finanically.

If he's that sick of pop music for the past 15 years, why not just retire "Todd's Pop Song Reviews" and just focus on "One Hit Wonderland" and "Trainwreckords"?
