I wish he'd auction off requesys for Trainwreckords. I've been waiting for him to tackle Christina Aguilera's Bionic.
I’m sure there’s a good amount of stuff to be requested. And I’m wondering if there’s a chance like OHW in the past where Todd tried to suggest something else (or says something doesn’t count) but happens anyway because the requester was dead set on it and put their foot down or practically begged for that episode).

I want him to a OHW on "Feel Good Drag" by Anberlin and a Trainwrekcords on pretty. Odd. by Panic At the Disco. I've been waiting for an episode on that forever.
Does anyone know how much the requests cost? I'm thinking of buying one.

For either of those, I have to assume they’re only for his Patreon backers. Also, judging from the last time he did this request drive, I believe he said the slots filled up pretty quickly (I don’t know if Todd mentioned how many requests spots he’s giving out before any cutoff).

Why would you willingly give Tard your money?

It's always been a dream of mine to get an episode of OHW commissioned. Considering how he's been acting recently though, that's why I said I was thinking about it. I'm not even a backer anyway so never mind.

For the cost of one single American freedom dollar, you can join Todd's Patreon and potentially give him money for favors content. Last time he auctioned requests, they were $300 and still sold out immediately.

ETA: the next Song vs Song choices are Memory vs I Dreamed a Dream, and musical theater means either Angelina or Lindsay guesting. Also, since Amydog had surgery, Todd is selling requests on Patreon.
It was in fact Angelina on SvS. The requests are apparently going to be very limited in number with their own Patreon tier; my guess is $1k/request. If Amydog needs ongoing care, $2k.

I'd love one on Cherry Pie by Warrent. That title track written on a fucking pizza box didn't just kill the reputation of Warrent.
It killed the entire reputation of fucking glam metal.

Runner up would be Results May Vary by Limp Bizkit turned the band into an afterthought while Slipknot and even Korn maintained relevance into the Obama admin.

So, I know pretty. Odd was a shitshow behind the scenes, but the album did well and had some solid songs on it that charted. Lots of people know about Nine in the Afternoon, where I was it was bigger than any of their other songs from the first album and it's how I found out about them. Yes that's anecdotal, but I don't think he'd count it for Trainwreckords. Also, just checked the list on Wikipedia, Feel Good Drag isn't on there. Which I figured because I was pretty sure Paper Thin Hymn was also a hit.

Also, save your money, he'll get to them eventually.

whose brother died in a Communist death camp
I remember once he compared this to those detention centers in Texas for illegal immigrants that everyone was upset about for 5 minutes and which AOC went to performatively cry in front of. Apparently for Todd this is basically equivalent to Pol Pot's killing fields.

Did Biden even do anything about the detention rules when he got into office? Because I don't remember hearing about it.

But I’ve always seen “grift” as “somebody always trying to promote themselves, their brand, or their scheme, while doing anything and everything to line their pockets, quality be damned”.
'Grifter' literally means 'con artist', so IMO there has to be a con or a scam involved in some way. Just making money in a scummy way doesn't make you a grifter.

IIRC when he auctions requests, they're open for any category. Most people request one hit wonders, but he's done at least one Trainwreckords request. If you really want to spend your money that way then knock yourself out.

Fair enough about the Panic! thing. Another one I was thinking of was Screaming Bloody Murder by Sum 41 because that one was also a shit show behind the scenes and ended their run on Island Records, pretty sure they were dropped by them. I also remember Deryck having to crowdfund the rest of the album? It didn't do very well at all but was somehow nominated for a Grammy. It didn't win though
"The Feel Good Drag" went number one on the rock charts, I was pretty sure. I don't remember "Paperthin Hymn" from when I was younger, it's wild because I always thought they were a One Hit Wonder.
Also, was the list you were looking at the one for One Hit Wonders? Jimmy Eat World was on there too and I can say with confidence that they're definitely not a One Hit Wonder. I'd argue that "Pain" was just as big as "The Middle."

The requests tier was posted on Patreon at around noon EST for $1500 each, 6 available. Five hours later, they are sold out. Quickest $9k ever.

Crosspost from Lindsay thread talking about our boy.

Correction to my earlier post about Lindsay's activities circa 2015: according to her blog post about being a 30 year old bisexual, when she published it on 26 June 2015, she had been broken up with Todd for almost a year, so possibly as early as July 2014. Which means he was living with his ex until Nov 2015, almost 18 months, until she moved to LA and he moved in with Kyle.

They better be good-ass choices, too.
What would constitute a “good” or “bad” choice in your opinion? He hasn’t done a OHW since “Relax”.

A good one is a song and band that has an interesting background or lore. A bad one is basically one that doesn't interest me.

Sounds simple enough. The only time I’ve ever skipped a OHW is the times when I don’t recognize the song or the artist (which seems to happen more often than not recently). Let’s just hope Patreon requests don’t lead to shit.

Say what you will about Todd's shift towards millennial faux-activism but god damn if it isn't lucrative. If there's anyone with both the poor financial sense and disposable income to blow four weeks' rent on a One Hit Wonderland video, it's chronically online leftists.

Surely he's covered most of the interesting ones by now, anyway? I'm still waiting on a Third Eye Blind episode but otherwise nothing really springs to mind.

There's a whole lot of OHWs that he's probably started and shelved because there wasn't much of anything interesting to say about the music or the artist. That said, some of the better OHWs like Pepper or Your Woman came from suggestions instead of his own volition. I have a list of ones I'd like to see, though as he moves more towards curmudgeonly, sanctimonious wokescold instead of quality infotainer, that desire gets tempered. Cult of Personality by Living Colour is the perfect OHW to let him get his political finger-wagging out about the election while also discussing a good song by an unusual band.

And how would he cover Third Eye Blind? They weren't one hit wonders, nor did they have a trainwreckord.
