I watched more Herman and Katnip than Tom and Jerry as a kid for some reason. It's pretty much a Mary Sue but more violent.
Yeah but at least Herman and Katnip wasn't turned into friends like Tom & Jerry was in the 1975 cartoon.

Then Filmation fixed that mistake with their own series.

Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry is some of my favorite Tom and Jerry.

And I only found out recently that everyone hates the 1992 movie. I absolutely cherished it as a child and still do in a way, even found my old copy of it a while back and the feels felt like WWE champion Roman Reigns hit me with his finishing move called The Spear.

A lot of people might not like it but I saw it when I was in the prime age group the movie was targeted at and I loved it.
I loved that they finally talked. Perhaps I might change my mind if I watch it as an adult but I seem to like a lot of things that I come to find out a lot of others hate.

You know I had such a soft spot for the Chuck Jones era of Tom & Jerry. It got a bum rep for years an to this day I don't know why other than historians criticized it for being a bit similar to Chuck's other similar works from WB that featured Coyote and Roadrunner or Sylvester and Tweety. I still think Gene Deitch era of Tom & Jerry is the most underappreciated, which too was criticized by historians because of "muh Gene Deitch" and how his work was best suited for UPA, Terrytoons and the likes of Eastern Europe. Regardless, Deitch's vision, at least to me, felt a bit more tame compared to the Hanna-Barbera years.

I grew up with Tom and Jerry watching it on Boomerang. It’s one of those things that gives me a lot of nostalgia. I can’t name off all my favorites since I don’t remember the names, but my least favorite ones were the ones with the owner who abused the shit out of Tom when he got angry. Think they were like lately 60s-70s ones? It wasn’t until recently I learned about the different eras the show even had. Next to Popeye, Tom and Jerry was always one of my favorite classic cartoons. A few of the movies from the 2000s hold up very well today, The Fast and the Furry, Blast off to Mars, The Magic Ring and A Nutcracker Tale are all really solid movies/specials that actually feel like the old cartoons but feel also right for the era they were made in.

That channel used to be awesome. It was a good idea having CN stick all the old shows on one channel, but then little by little they started to ruin it.
I still had memories watching that in the 2000s. Even the promos were very creative
