Seeing the general public react to Tom is such a treat. It destroys his claim that he's famous and respected in his community, and we get some nice, hilarious stories we'd normally miss out on. His Google reviews also paint a nice picture on how he fits in to his local community (he doesn't.) I think he had one positive review for the place that sold him his shitty chinese sax, and every other place was 1 star reviews after sperging at staff for telling him to leave.

This is what makes him so hilarious. He genuinely does not understand what he did wrong. Whether he’s that clueless about how society has changed since the 1870s or whether he just thinks it doesn’t matter because it’s him, he’ll invariably go in with the exact same sperg about how “she’d been making her own decisions since the age of 9 and blah blah blah.” And every single time, he’s outraged that people interpret his sexual attraction to children as proof that he is sexually attracted to children.

At least in the case of Tom, the chances of him reoffending are slim. He’s a morbidly obese, grotesque, stinky, obviously mentally ill geriatric who lives in filth. He’s not smart enough to manipulate and he’s not strong enough to overpower. Basically, the only way an underage girl is going to his shit-covered apartment is to rob it.

But the Karen’s general sentiment is dumb. Kids should not live in fear, but stranger danger is still a thing.
