i haven't felt the need to pirate since steam. there was a point back in the day where piracy was a smoother experience than actually buying games - the whole process of buying a game, then having to go to the website and get whatever updates, and being forced to have a slow ass cd or dvd in the drive while playing sucked when you could just get latest and greatest for free. nowadays the whole process of verifying if a game torrent is legit and oh wait what if it's multiplayer seems like more work than it's worth.

Why would you when Steam and GOG exist? Granted that any EGS exclusive games should be pirated on general principles. Other than that torrents are too much hassle if you can buy the game in question easily enough. I want to clarify that I see nothing wrong with torrenting things you could pay for instead, I'm no moralfag on this issue, I just can't be bothered to do so if the game is available on places like Steam or GOG and especially so if it's available for cheap.

Torrents are a far bigger hassle than just buying the game off Steam or or GOG.

And if you wait a game can eventually be had for a song.

So there's literally no point save for maybe old, obscure stuff that has yet to get a GOG re-release.
