If he's smart, he will completely leave the internet forever and move out of state after spending 4 years in prison. But I have a feeling this fat retard will immediately jump back to doing the same shit, or maybe even worse this time.
If he is smart, he'll become a "security consultant" as well as being a confidential informant for life... much like every other high profile "hacker" arrest over the past 40 years. Mitnick went he security consultant route and wrote a book, Kevin Poulsen became a journalist and writer for Wired Magazine. Pretty sure Hector from lulzsec is also doing the private cyber security consultant thing as well.
Permanent fed CI is also an option and/or spooky dirty tricks operator is an option like Laurelai Bailey. KYS is always an option too down this path too, like Adrian Lamo.
It's true, but it only happens in maximum security ones with the actual deranged lunatics and gang members with life sentences so they just don't give a fuck. Definitely not happening where this guy is going
I've had some friends who have done time, and the only times they ever heard of or saw people getting worked over or shived, it was either gang related, or low-IQ thugs with poor impulse control. It was usually at the hands of people with little to loose, who were already effectively lifers.
As others have pointed out, with a "non-violent offence" and 48 month sentence he'll probably doing time in low security with other people who just want to keep their heads down and do their time. His most likely chance to brush up with the career criminal element is when he's in county waiting to be shipped off to prison.
This is of course this is also if the Bureau of Prisons
isn't feeling malicious. If they might send him to someplace worse, he might get some
"diesel therapy",
or they might purposely try to start some shit.
Also, unlike early release from state prison, federal supervised release is going to be a bitch, especially for someone of his skillset/profile. They are going to either be up in his business 24/7 or he's going to be restricted from technology something fierce.
