It’s controlled by a PWM signal from the ECU, as well as an enable, fault feedback, a temperature sensor and maybe also a tach signal.
But setting it to 14.5V continuously is a bad idea, when the battery is hot (under the hood, in Texas) that high of a charge voltage would boil the battery and destroy it in hours. That’s why the ECU tapers it down after a few minutes of running.

My advice: stop messing with it.

I HAVE A 12VOLT BATTERY CHARGER THAT RUNS ON 120VOLTSAC, IT HAS A TURBO BUTTON THAT I LEAVE IT CHARGING A STANDARD CAR BATTERY AT 15.5 VOLTS, AND IT DID NOT BOIL..

IT WAS LEFT CHARGING LIKE THAT OVERNIGHT AT 15.5 VOLTS.

Nah. If the battery is sitting at 15.5V without heating up then it’s heavily sulphated, or the acid is dilute, and is not actually absorbing any power.

If you supply that sort of voltage to a healthy battery (without current limit, or a very high one like an alternator has) it will definitely go into thermal runaway sooner or later. Sooner if it is hot to start with.

Yeah it’s not intended as bullying, I’m just pointing out where you’re talking shit (no offence) about a subject I know a lot about. You could call it free advice that would save you money!

I don’t know anything about trading which is why you don’t see me posting threads claiming I have superior knowledge and shouting at anyone who asks the slightest question.

I HAVE BUILT AND USED SEVERAL VERSIONS OF WHAT YOU WILL SEE IN THIS VIDEO..

YOU CAN TURN THE BELT/ALTERNATOR WITH ALMOST ANY KIND OF ENGINE, AND YOU CAN CHARGE A CAR BATTERY.

I bet you you weren’t going to do it, you accepted (easy money you said, I think) and then you didn’t.

You’re still not going to. It doesn’t solve any problem that you have - primarily that you have no money and live in a car.

It’s just hot air. It makes me think you don’t actually know anything about trading or programming either and you’re just getting high and spinning stories.
