Is "coddled" what you're looking for? But I agree, it's mind-blowing to see the level of luxury that most people take for granted nowadays. Love seeing all those little wannabe communists not even thinking twice about how incredible it is that things like clean running water and supermarkets offering year-round access to seasonal fresh food are considered the baseline in places like the US and Europe. We've spent our entire evolutionary history fighting off predators, starvation, and scrotum maggots, it's no wonder that we start inventing our own problems when that all gets taken away.

My local Member of Parliament is an indigenous woman and she was attempting to call out the federal government's lack of funding for programs to deal with the problem of missing and murdered indigenous women, girls, and two spirit people (often abbreviated in Canada to MMIWG2S). She expanded that to other parts of the community using the abbreviation MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+. It then got dogpiled by ignorant reactionaries, most notably Elon Musk. In my province, not to long ago, the previous provincial government ran on a campaign where they were taking joy in NOT searching the landfills for 4 indigenous women murdered by a serial killer, as well as running on a campaign that would forcibly out trans children to their parents.

NGL that's a terrible acronym. Even writing it down I feel like just typing out full words is less unwieldy for both the reader and the person that has to remember this secure password ass combination of letters. Even without the mmiw bit, as a queer person I think after we crossed like 4-5 letters, the acronym started to feel like a bit.

If your acronym is longer than the word acronym, it is much too long. They're meant to simplify communication, and it breaks pattern recognition if they get too many letters. It becomes something you gloss over instead. ...

I was waiting to check out at Costco yesterday, just standing there in the kingdom of bulk snacks and industrial-sized toilet paper, when a little girl, maybe 6 or 7, looked up at me and asked very seriously, “Are you a boy or a girl?”

Gets even stupider when one realizes that "-gender" pretty much means the same as "aesthetic" or "-core" for these people, and has been for years. It's not even an identity, let alone sexuality, at that point. I can't imagine how much space was freed up if 9000+ pages of pure fat was cut from the servers.

From what I remember, MOGAI lost favor years ago because the Tumblrinas that came up with it kept debating whether it should include pedophiles as a "marginalized" group (since it was supposed to be for all oppressed groups, not just LGBT; people of color (general) also qualified by their logic). Nowadays, it's most popular with... pedos and pedo sympathizers (and zoophiles). Go figure. LGBTQ or + are annoying enough. QUILTBAG at least gave me a laugh from how silly it was.
