Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I was lucky enough to find a WFC Kingdon Wheeljack at Target while I was out the other day, scooped him up as he was the last one there. The only other WFC figures they ever have there is the Arcee, and I already bought one of those for the wife. Wheeljack is my favorite G1 Autobot, and I don't have anything of him yet, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. His joints were pretty stiff, so I was afraid I was gonna break some of his thinner plastic turning him into car mode, but he came out unscathed both turning into car and back into bot form. I'm pretty pleased with him!

I bought Earthrise/kingdom wheeljack used off ebay a months ago. The previous owner had put an upgrade kit and some subtle chrome details on the inside of his wheels . I've been tempted on occasion to paint the halfs of his arm that aren't painted for some reason. Not the part with the car bits but the part visible in robot mode. Mine in particular is kind of the opposite, Specifically his knees. Really easy to knock down if they aren't positioned in a specific way.

Was Walgreens Kingdom Red Alert even released in significant numbers or do we have to wait for Canada to get it so it can be easily found?

The only walgreens exclusives i ever saw in the wild were brainstorm and wreck gar, and wreck gar was the only one I saw in stock frequently. Make of that what you will.

I saw four Ratchets in an EB games once, bought them all and scalped em. Good times

Saber funding over, around 22,700 but the number's still changing after it ended for some reason.

Hopefully this shows them that JG1 stuff won't just flop at retail and they'll have more faith in doing them properly in the future (cough Deathsaurus, Liokaiser, God Ginrai...)

Another thing I've failed to get. Looked it up and not only is it being scalped instantaneously but the cheaper star saber figures incliding those that don't transform are now being charged at over 100 too. Part of me thinks it's partly due to this thing. Anyways I fucking hate scalpers and the fact literally nobody buys shit off me when I offer it for a sane price but will buy shit in dogshit condition from a scalper for insano prices, usually to then try and scalp it higher. Fuck everything. Tried literally every method aside from criminal activities to gather spare funds to get the thing and ended up with 0 all the way to the end. Can barely even enjoy my own god damn stupid hobbies anymore with the price hikes all over everything. I mean I can enjoy them technically but it's like yeah you get me.

This one didn't feel as premium as the last few hasbro pulselab products, Unicron was kinda pushing it too but at least it had size and planet accuracy (sculpt wise at least) on it's side. This literally felt like one of those standard box set releases they promoted to "preorder exclusive" and bundled together. It was priced like that too and I normally can't afford those. The only thing like that I've been able to afford was the pulsecon quintesson box set restock, due to it being on the cheaper end of those kinds of things. Still haven't opened that yet but I also still haven't managed to make the diorama I want to for the figures within it yet. Still bummed the thing's box ended up somehow getting dented and crushed on the window display diorama bits. Still bummed they never released the bailiff as a singlular release or even a properly scaled prosecutor.

They probably won't give dethsaurus a release at all now considering the actual main protagonists are a haslab exclusive. kinda fucking bugs the fucking shit out of me because much like the Armada optimus prime remake we KNOW there's probably an unfinished/unreleased deathsaurus figure that wasn't shown off. Remember the power of the primes figure vote contest a few years back where the one that won was a remake of optimal optimus? One of the options said like "mysterious evil" or some shit like that and it was literally a mugshot of deathsaurus in shadow. Of course the vote was for "the next canonical prime" so of course optimus primals the choice people are gonna pick. Big monkey has more universal appeal than freaky space chicken dragon. Kinda wonder what that or the shockwave figure would have looked like sometimes, there's probably full body concept art out there somewhere. I'm guessing with the fact they upscaled toxitrons head for power of the primes they could probably havedownscaled the POTP shockwave to the siege figure.

Deathsaurus is rumoured for 2023, leaker said that Deathsaurus on the drawing board IF Star Saber was successful, he’s coming,

Star Saber is a direct response to the campaign Todd McFarlane did last year, he crowdfunded a very premium action figure chock-full of accessories.

That is Star Saber, a premium figure loaded with accessories, backers get more than their money’s worth, a commander, a leader, effects, stand, two micros and two additional accessories (cannon and shield) to round out the set.

Yeah I'm unable to take anything you say about value as anything other than a sales pitch for your overpriced ebay listings right now lmao

pulselab star saber isn't a figure but a box set of several figures that would normally be released individually if not for haslab exclusivity. It's priced and packed like any recent Transformers generatons collector box set from the past several years, with the only difference being it has a cool flight stand. Star saber guns,s shield and all would be a commander class and victory leo would probably be a leader given his large accessories. add in the price for the redecoed siege battlemasters and the stand which considering it's size would probably be 20 or 30 and the price more or less evens out to what it's worth FOR THE NORMAL PRICE. My main problem is the fact it's a one time only timelocked preorder deal where a majority of the preorders are going to be people scalping the damn thing on ebay for thousands, and the preorder window was too small for someone like me to even get the funds. Same issues I had with unicron minus the pricing, really.

My scummy eBay habit aside, I respectfully disagree. Star Saber at retail would’ve been compromised and with a niche character like him that’s a risk I am not willing to take. “Do it right or don’t do it at all.”

Now I’m not trying to sound like a cunt here, but it was to be expected that after the Marvel Haslab that there would be a TF Haslab, that was roughly three months to get money in place, Star Saber was up for a month, that is standard-fare for crowdfunded merchandise.

I hate how so many faggots and trannies are into transformers now
Blame TF: Prime and the More than Meets the Eye/Lost Light comic, those two let in the……. unfortunate element.

Thankfully Hasbro rarely acknowledges them and even then it’s funny.

Back in 2016/2017 they crammed every Q/A asking for their cringe comic-exclusive characters. Hasbro acquiesced, with Nautica as a repaint with ugly head…… in a roughly 150$ box set. If you got that box set you could scalp Nautica for the price of the box itself, they were/are that desperate to get their (literal) autistic waifu.

With how Unicron was compromised despite being the price and limited one time production run it was I'm betting there's gonna be issues with this star saber. I'm hoping it's not the case but with the last minute paint app omisions on unicron and the sentinel's weak knees and blocked off lights when the head articulates it's a high possibility this may follow suit.

Third party/expensive figure-wise I've been on and off about thinking of putting some cash aside to eventually get one of the versions of Studio01 Cell, or possibly just the takara unicron from 10 years ago. Both are around the same price thats way out of my normal price range for shit and I still got the cheapass $50 og armada unicron I've had since when I was a kid and although thats like not accurate to most unicrons colorscheme wise it's the one I find actually worth the asking price. it's fucking insane how after armada and energon they bumped the price up to 160 or some shit and then 200. This wasn't like even within the span of a long period of time either, shit weirded me the fuck out when it happened. Got the OG Cybertron primus lying around somewhere too, pulled the batteries out a few years ago in fear they'd go bad and leak and then when I changed my mind due to how fucking long they've lasted without dying I then realized I lumped in the dead and still good batteries of my old figures into a single pile. I got a big feeling if I find and put new batteries in theyll leak or die super fast wth how quick shit that requires batteries seems to die these days lmao.

My point though is I'm not super in dire lust for the expensive ass things but it'd be something cool to have if I had the money.

I get ya in that regard, I’m curious to see if Razor Crest/Galactus have QC troubles.

Personally, none of the Unicrons do it for me. Not 3P or official, though I do regret missing out on that licensed 3P Unicron head.

Original armada is NEAR PERFECT with some weird small differences caused by it being a "modernized" take on unicron. I like how the chest is sculpted ina way that if you pose the figure certain ways it gives an optical illlusion of him tilting his chest forward or backwards, shit looks odd from the side though but it's still cool to me all these years later. The takara dominator anniversary edition of it is the closest I've seen to a unicrton that captures the vibe of g1 other than customized ones. Unfortunately only the front of his head is painted and he lacks the whole collar thing due to being the armada one recolored . Haslab unicron is big as fuck but colored a bit weird and has the skimped out paint apps and lazy engineering. I kinda wish it did what those initial concept previews for it did where the kibble hinged inside the leg rather than sitting on it. Then there's the brittle/easily cracking plastic on it thats a double fucking hell shit moment. Studio1 cell is kibble free and almost perfect but the fact it has the clawed hands like the haslab one and the face is a different color than the hands, combined with the weird color placement in planet mode make it less g1 accurate. Scale-wise I've seen in some comparison pics that it's pretty much if the armada unicron had properly long legs. The more orange one "pumpkin" has an extra add on to make the rings more accurately sized to the g1 movie but sadly no clawless hands.

There reallyis no "perfect" unicron, but pretty much all the options out there are fucking great.
I mean there WAS a perfect unicron I saw once last year that was an ebay listing of a customized armada one that got sold real fast, but that isnt a mass produced item.

I agree that Armada is the best, but man I really regret being strapped for cash when Ex Gokin Unicron was out.

It not only satisfies the scalefag in me but also homages my beloved Marvel comic.

Been tempted on occasion to try and make a custom head like that one but I'm still not confident enough in my skills to follow through with gathering supplies and trying it.

I bought that set for Laser Prime and the Fastlane, I sold Nautica for the price of the box itself. Hasbro throwing a bone to retards can pay off if you’re savvy enough. Upcoming Armada Starscream will be pure scalperbait for example.

Considering the last armada starscream goes for relatively cheap and the takara/club/convention exclusive variants seem to just rapidly fluctuate between 30 and 100 on and off depending on the time of day I'd say there's potential. Then again right now literally every transformer thats been released seems to be "scalper bait" cause scalpers just buy fucking hoard everything unless it's some of the less popular/older figures from over a deade ago or earthrise/kingdom arcee lately.
