Took some simple-ish pictures with the figures I've been meaning to. Once again, due to the whole "ambient lighting" thing I had to use the flash. Turned the exposure down and it seems to have mostly negated the weird color issues caused by the flash. mostly.

Cyclonus can wear the matrix chain and arm cannon in a way that actually looks natural. This was definitely not an intentional feature but it's funny to me due to the fact there's the cyclonus figure from a few years back that's whole gimmick was he could turn into galvatron but as a combiner. it's still weird to me how he's slightly shorter than galvatron when in g1 scale he was slightly taller than galvatron. It's one of the few flub ups in the WFC trilogy's whole attempt at scaling the robot modes with each other, with Astrotrain being the other one that comes to mind.

Last but not least, here's the shoulderpad configuration thing I was talking about in my earlier post. Surprised the stock images of selects galvatron don't show this off at all.I made that clear already, but it's still wild to me.

Some info we know already know.
It is widely believed that Jhiaxus is a heavy retool of an existing figure, either a retool of Scourge or more likely a pre-tool of Armada Starscream, “Cyclonus’s Armada” is his toy colours, Blaster was originally in Kingdom, we don’t know if SG Ultra Magnus is just straight-up Diaclone colours or if they did the dumb skull face, SS Hot Rod is probably animation-accurate magenta, Blitzwing is packaged with missile pods that can be boosters/hulk hands and Cybertron Metroplex is believed to be a compromise, combining the desired (heavily hinted) G1 Metroplex remake with elements of his Cybertron counterpart.

I've seen this movie ridiculous amount of times, still love it even though it's not perfect. I think the second half after Starscream dies is weaker than the first, but it's still pretty sad how this one movie has more robot characterization than pretty much all the Bay movies combined.

And Nimoy is still my favorite Galvatron voice ever.

I still remember seeing that as a six-year old who’s only experience up until that point was Armada and a bit of Energon, I loved every moment of it. Still do, I remember my mom video-taping it onto a VHS of an old aerobics routine so I could watch the movie anytime.

I've seen this movie ridiculous amount of times, still love it even though it's not perfect. I think the second half after Starscream dies is weaker than the first, but it's still pretty sad how this one movie has more robot characterization than pretty much all the Bay movies combined.

And Nimoy is still my favorite Galvatron voice ever.

The second half is weaker but by then it’s purely carried by the characters, all of which are great. Springer being a robot Han Solo, Arcee being the responsible team mom, Kup being the cool grandpa. It’s all great and everyone got some time to shine, damn good toy ad.

Galvatron was the star of the show, Nimoy really put in more than he needed to. Helped by Welker’s Megatron getting to be actually intimidating for once by getting some payback on Optimus’s group of merry misfits.

I still to this day “hear” Nimoy’s take when I read any comic with Galvy in it.

The Golden Disk collection is popping up on Amazon/Pulse, yesterday was Puffer/Road Ranger and today is Jackpot. We still have two more to go, orange Tigatron with mutant face and Terrorsaur.

Recommend putting in that Terrorsaur order quick, he’s gonna be like those coneheads from last year.

Personally I got what I want out of this Golden Disk line, a Gobot, an Action Master, his partner and a new character all together. Plus the fiction confirms them as a squad. Might keep them together on the shelf.

I really thought I would hate kingdom due to beast wars stuff, but they're still going for the G1 deep cuts.

And it's looking like the next line will be no different. We'll probably get Action Master Optimus out of the G2 Leader one.

Thing is despite looking magma-like the series points out several times it's a special kind of alien "plasma" material that gives a power boost to those exposed to it. One of those weird mcguffin type substances like the shit in the golden lagoon. Thing is though with his head injury from when he got hurled out of unicron some of the plasma got in there and that caused him to become literally brain damaged. If it was magma we wouldn't see characters that fall into it getting out like nothing was wrong after being knocked into it by galvatron. So due to this shit Season 3 onwards galvatron is just megatron but without an anger filter and slightly warped reasoning due to the brain damage who was also STRONGER than he initially was, as opposed to being Megatron but purple and voiced by Leonard Nimoy. Headmasters english dub galvatron is fucking weird because he's clearly season 3 galvatron but the VA is seemingly doing a Leonard nimoy galvatron impersonation, though thats like the most tame kind of weird thing from that dub.

There's compilations on youtube of out of context season 3 galvatron moments that have been up for quite some time now, this one's one of the better ones I've seen due to it including his intro as the actual intro.

I always liked the Marvel explanation for the madness. It goes that Megatron was insane when Unicron found him and the subsequent reformatting into the cold, calculating Galvatron wiped that from his system. But it failed, that last little piece of Megatron is is slowly fighting it’s way to the surface, corrupting Galvatron.

Little, by little the madness that claimed Megatron will claim Galvatron.

I need to reorganize my collection though, I have all the seekers since siege and I think they need their own shelf at this point. Shattered Glass should probably get it's own shelf as well as should all the beast war types. I used to have everything neat and organized, but with all the releases, stuff is winding up on different shelves anyways.

Also has anyone come across Walgreens Earth mode Red Alert? I've yet to actually see him anywhere. But I've been making sure to get every version of the sideswipe mold because they're about as perfect as generic autobots get. That and Sideswipe was my first g2 figure.

I'd love for some of these beast bots to be retooled into pretenders personally. Every g1 themed shelf needs some of that late 80's weird flair that pretenders brought.

Funny you should mention Pretenders, I’m gonna use Mutant Tigatron as Catilla. That mutant head reminds me of the old battle mask his cat shell could wear and in his box art his shell looked more like a normal tiger than it’s sabretoothed cousin.

Planning on turning him into a Merc as well, the Mercenary shelf needs more Autobot-aligned hired guns.

God, we need a Devcon from SS Scourge.

Seekers get their own shelf too, along with deluxe flyers to diversify/fill up space between the Seekers and their crazy wingspans.

There are 13 unique Actionmaster bots, so it's not a big amount to cover. But if they're going to be sticking their partners with them I wonder if they're going to re-use some of the titans returns headmaster vehicles.
