Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

We might also have a new Powermaster Prime on the way.

That is a retool of Magnus’s inner robot.

That's no powermaster prime, that's God Ginrai.
Isn't the difference between powermaster prime and god ginrai that the inner robot has blue lower arms for ginrai?

I mean, aside from the fact a human pilots ginrai.

The main difference was, Ginrai had diecast parts and came with Godbomber, Powermaster prime didn't.

Ah yeah I forgot the toys were nearly identical!
This new figure just has the standard "optimus" look to it though which is slightly strange.

What you're thinking of with the arms is the trailer for the larger form. God Ginrai had different tooled arms for the combined mode and had the fists retract while PMP was one solid piece.

I was actually thinking about the colors more than anything. Otimus is usually depicted with the whole red arm and blue/silver/black hands while ginrai's just got the blue lower arm and hands thing. Only time that's not like that is armada and cybertron IIRC

If they did another Ginrai I'd like an entirely new mold like this Victory Saber, with all the correct gimmicks too. The Titans Return version was halfassed and the Godbomber Takara shat out felt like it was designed in 24 hours with zero QC testing.

I think that WFC Magnus thing is probably just Takara repainting it into Optimus because they can.

I thought about it and top autists on TFW have come to the conclusion that this Prime is a pack-in to promote a possible line of action figure stands from Takara.

So tonight I decided I was going to put in a preorder for that $40 Shattered glass megatron since I realized I had the spending money for it thanks to a lot of stupid ass preorder delay times and it's a figure I've aimed to put up a preorder for only to find out it apperently sold out suddenly despite the last stock check thing saying there were a fuckload of preorders available. Scalpers already are raking up the price to $80 on ebay it'll probably be $200 like every other fucking sold out transformer within the next few hours and I'll never see it for a sane price ever again. I can't find anything about it being sold out anywhere and the google page for the item still says it's in stock. That's how fucking convenient the timing is. God I fucking hate my life.

I know the feeling, I’m eyeing up SG Jetfire. I’m debating repurposing him as Astrotrain. Cyberverse had Astrotrain as a sort of giant and the look is really good.

I gotta make up my mind quick.

All the others still show in stock and blurr hasn't even sold out yet. Literally the only figure I was after sold out right before I made the fucking decision. I don't know what algorithm bullshit scalper bots run on but this whole thing's suspicious with how out of nowhere the stock just went to "sold out" with no real reason. I'd get jetfire but I can't even fucking afford him. Probably gonna miss out on victory saber too even though it's infinitely cheaper than unicron.

EDIT: Speaking of scalpers I just remembered some weird shit I noticed earlier today. Earthrise megatron's like suddenly being sold for significantly more money than siege megatron despite people liking the siege figure better. Not the g2 version thoguh that one's the same price as the seige ones. Just the standard easy to come by earthrise retool of megatron.

Tomorrow it will be a week left on Victory Saber.

If it makes you feel better a lot of collectors are predicting a “flood” come the winter. Hasbro mass-filling the shelves/stores with all the product that has been held up in transport. This “flood” would hurt the scalpers immensely.

Selects Galvatron is shipping early btw, I think Hasbro just wants more Galvatrons in circulation, regardless of colours. We know he's getting a reissue in Legacy, will likely get a repaint/remold in Studio Series and of course you have the Chad toy colours.

I have yet to see selects galvatron and my pulse order says november. I know a bunch of reviewers got selects galvatron early but I don't consider that the same. I'm just glad I managed to get one of the restocks of the normal galvatron even with the fucked up shoulders it's like literally the only leader class figure aside from beast megatron scalpers are consistently on the ass of.
I remember the incredible fucking anomaly that was G2 earthrise megatron shipping early. Nobody reported on that it just fucking happened. Remind me to fish out his fucking arm cannon that fell behind some structure I don't really remember when the thing fell over months ago. I mean don't really, it's just I somehow keep forgetting to go looking for it lmao
If selects galvatron's shipping early I REALY gotta be careful with my spending money and just buy fucking nothing for a while while trying to sell more shit to get extra spending money lmao.

Completely unrelated again, but I noticed that galvatron and Earthrise megatron's heads are around the same exact size. Surprised nobody's done a headswap custom to make a "proper" shattered glass megatron yet.

Like I said, they want Galvatrons out there. He’s the king of the kingdom, hottest release this year, the fucking Turboman. Ahnold is gonna fight Sinbad to get his kid a Galvatron this Christmas.

If ER Megs really is being scalped and price hiked now then that's pretty funny because that figure sucks and is basically just an inexplicably inferior version of Siege Megs. Guess they might as well try it now because if Hasbro does a better G1 Megs in the future that thing's value is going to plummet like a boulder.

I'm still using the Combiner Wars Leader as my "main" Megatron, he has a bunch of flaws and the way the cannon works is dumb but I really like his paintjob and the way he just towers over everyone.

My modded combiners wars megatron I got and bought the leg extensions for to give him ankles a few years back is still on my shelf. Weird shoulders aside he's really solid. The ankleess armada recolor of him is also on the same shelf, it's a damn shame nobody made kits to beef that one up. Kinda ficked up my g1 styled combiner wars megatron by trying to sand and repaint the shoulders to a matching silver but from a distance you'd never tell. I should probably try removing that paint sometime but I don't want to possibly remove the normal actual paint off him. Pretty much just been amassing weird variants of siege megatron these past few years aside from that combiner wars one and the titans return one I got. Unfortunately missed out on the Takara G2 hero version of that one and hoping one day I manage to find it for a sane price again.

Weird thing about the earthrise megatron price hike is some places still have him in stock for MSRP or lower. I've occasionally been temped to get him to custom paint after seeing people managed to make the figure look good via repainting it so it doesn't have the black and red bars on his upper torso or the half black shoulders.
The headsculpt's kinda grown on me despite it being less accurate than siege megatron's to the g1 megatron design it's attempting to emulate. Similar thing happened to Titans return overlord recently where he jumped from $30 on ebay to the same price as the takara one.

You know what they really need to start doing with these things? Including alternate faceplates like they do with the masterpiece figures. They're clearly going for a smaller scale version of what masterpiece used to be before they went all "500 DOLLAR FULLY PAINTED OVERLY COMPLEX FIGURES BASED ON THE CARTOON BUT NOT ACCURATE TO THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE CHARACTERS" and there's the alternate angry beast megatron face that ended up in some batches. Now knowing it wasn't used for t wrecks comined with the inconsistent inclusion of articulated fingers on some of the recent figures, it makes me wonder why they just don't go and include both those with all the figures that can use them? Sme kind of weird shit that irks me about the Gi joe classified line or even marvel legends where some figures have alternate hands but others just have balled fist/gun hands. Marvel legends even has the alternate expression heads sometimes! Why the fuck doesn't transformers have that aside from studio series bumblebee?

I’m using Netflix Siege Megs with the Reprolabels kit, a custom part to replicate his “gun barrel” on the back and some custom paintwork to match the Marvel comic.

If people want to pay a premium for ER Megatron then they deserve to be taken advantage of.

I think I realize now why Galvatron's weirdly larger than megatron, Not extremely apparent in this photo but he's actually in scale with titans return six shot. Due to the small amount of actual flat space I have to stand things on where I display these things I didn't have six shot out, he's been wedged in a half-car-mode state inbetween some dvd boxes for the last year or so lmao. Felt the urge to set up the cheapass somewhat shitty temporary photo-taking setup I've done to try and make it a bit more apparent.

The more I look at it, Kingdom Galvatron feels more like a siege figure than a kingdom one engineering wise. It's not just the battle damage stuff, it's the fact it's got the whole "g1 faithful but with a lot of extra surface greebling and panel lines with ports" thing. Considering he's an easter egg on the larger earthrise boxes this may very well be the case and reason he has battle damage on him. Due to his size, the siege "new soundwave" looks a bit out of scale here.
