Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I really couldn't get anything until I moved out. I managed to get some G2 stuff before they gave up on that and there was some stores still selling some old G1 stock

Looks like the Orian Pax from X-Transbots is based on a The Transformers the Movie earlier design for Magnus. If the figure doesn't have the same issues as their Kup I wouldn't mind getting one to kit bash into that character. Kitbashing some black sweeps wouldn't be hard either. It's just a black Sweep with a Shockwave/Whirl like head.

Been in an Armada mood lately

I gotta dig out my old armada guys sometime from whatever ancient bin they're in. I saw they're doing a new figure of hotshot from armada that's actually got proper articulation implemented in his arms, but no minicon despite them having a slot clearly made for a minicon in his spoiler. They keep bumping up prices and cheaping out more and more that it's now like a bizzaro world version of the armada days where they were somewhat affordable, had really great thick plastic, but usually cheaped out on engineering or articulation. Hot shot having fake shoulders is one of the most infamous cases but there's weirder ones like megatron and tidal wave not having knees.

Demolishor is one of the best armada figures in the sense of having actual articulation and integration with his minicon. He's got a partner that not only can launch out of his turret vehicle mode while in vehicle mode but also can pilot his turret vehicle mode. Really neat stuff. I have a few copies of the green energon version I got used back in the day when energon was actually on tv for like 7 dollars each I used to use as some sort of decepticon construction security force.

Hasbro/Takara's Deathsaurus doesn't look too bad. Orion Pax has some QC issues. Easy to fix but that mold was used once so I wouldn't think there would be problems. New Airrazer from the Rise of the Beasts movie looks great. May get a few to custom.

Somebody got Victory Saber in and there's some alarming QC problems. Nothing ultimately crippling but for a $180 figure, actual chunks missing from the internals is something even the mainlines don't have.

So far this appears to be an isolated incident as other VS samples are popping up with no reported issues of that nature. But given the development time of Deathsaurus implies a release date next Fall, I would be lying if I didn't have minor reservations. Hopefully my VS gets in before the 13th next month since I want to PO Deathsaurus myself (that goddamn THRONE, man, I need it since there's no question this thing will hit all the backing tiers once Japan orders get factored in) but if VS is a no-go then I may decide against it.

This only makes sense if they consider themselves a robot as robots don't have a sex. I wish the Left would stop ruining things. At least the Right would only make everything straight and not force acceptance of mental illness.

Rather like these designs for these Dinobots. Looks like something that they would have done after Beast Machines.

I'm guessing the Spino is the waist. I wonder what they'll do with the hands and feet. I hope raptors.

To be honest, I feel like someone should make a genuine critique of Earthspark that isn't constantly sucking the show off because all I can find online are people praising it like it's the next coming of Robot Christ.
It will be forgotten in 6 months.

Oh hey, there's enough of a lack of issues right now int erms of the site working it seems, so that's nice.
So, anyways, according to what I'm seeing online, Legacy Armada Starscream is out now in the US despite being dated for the middle of next year. Sure this isn't surprising with how both him and g1 Breakdown have been out in some countries for months now, Breakdown specifically had reviews up long before hasbro even officially announced him.
Weird bullshit distribution and inconsistent release dates aside, if I manage to get some cash together after this nightmare preorder scramble with other stuff I've ordered over the last year or 2 getting their release dates constantly shuffled around to the point I'm extremely cautious about ordering or buying fucking anything other than basic shit lately, I'm certainly gonna get Armada Starscream if I can find him in stock by that time if nothing else comes up. Gonna have to get a custom sword for him because the ones he comes with are so half assed compared to the figure itself.

The Armada Megatron there's supposedly product listings of is more than likely gonna be another redo of siege Megatron given how similar their alt modes are, which is gonna be unfortunate considering how he kinda towers over the other Decepticons in armada in terms of height save for Tidal Wave. The new Starscream from what I've seen in some people's photos and reviews scales well with all the other original armada releases in terms of anime scaling.
I don't have the money to go looking for the parts to do this, but I remember there was an old mod for armada Megatron some people figured out that gave him proper knee articulation by essentially stealing the upper legs of another figure with identically sized and shaped legs. The people that did that mod back in the day are probably gonna be happy not having to settle for whatever's gonna be going on with the new one if they still have theirs.

EDIT: In other news, I got the new Velocitron Cybertron override(Nitro convoy) Recently, the open box window shit they're doing really scratches up the paint on some of these things, but luckily the issues with mine are only paint issues with the gold bits scraping off a bit on the forearms and the window having one or two dings right out of the box. It shouldn't have to be this way but its's just how it is now., save for some exclusives like the target exclusive SS86 buzzworthy figures which still have the plastic bubble because reasons. I don't know why the headlights on this one aren't' painted at all. I ended up having to rediscover the weird trivia around the character I completely forgot where they're female in the english dub due to network interference, but male in every other version. Due to this when you look up the character name in current year there's just a shitload of coomer looking art and gendershit wars over the fucking character that was originally just an anime protagonist looking robot guy that turned into a royalty free mach 5. I'll take photos later at some point to justify this rambling ass mess of a post eventually, but I'm too out of it right now to do it lmao.

So like are the comics any good or
Currently, I'd so no. Too much politics thrown in to make them worth reading.

That being said. The only thing I've liked so far about Earthrise is Megatrons helicopter mode but the toys just don't do it justice. It would be nice if a third party would have a go at it. It's an okay throwback to his Animated altmode with some Cybertronian esthetics. It's at least not another tank.
