Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

It's the only stuff that seems to sell well. Much as I'd love to see all the main Beast characters get covered, I'm not holding my breath.
They're doing the RID and Unicron stuff so I think we'll eventually see more Beast characters get done. They're working on the basic transformations for many characters. They just have to design the "shells" for them. They'll probably only be done for those brown box series though and exclusives.

John Warden is returning to Transformers as Director of Product Design. Let's hope this doesn't mean endless G1spam from 2026 onward. https://news.tfw2005.com/2024/04/09/john-warden-rejoins-transformers-brand-team-508492
A lot of non g1 stuff over the years has just been continuations or reboots of g1 in some form or another. As sloppy as the unicron trilogy was at points there was a genuine soul behind it a good amount of shit from the last few years is severely lacking in.
Also release that anime style Siege Voyager Armada Prime you fucking hacks.

I just wish a bunch of it wasn't locked behind one time only pre-orders and over 200 dollar haslabs I can't fucking afford. Still miffed the only expensive remake I've been able to save money for is the fucking Tidal wave one I have a ton of issues with, but at fucking least he wasn't locked behind a haslab like RiD optimus prime and Magnus, who engineering wise would fall under Leader class. People have become too used to Leader=Voyager and Voyager+ big trailer armor equals 50 more dollars for"commander". I've seen shit that does the same stuff a lot of Hasbro's current output does and more for infinitely cheaper and it kinda bothers me as funny as I find it.

That reminds me, Deathsaurus was going to be a POTP leader figure. They had a fanvote when that was happening on what figure would go into production and Deathsaurus was one of the options. It probably wouldn't have been the exact same as the Haslab one, but I wouldn't doubt there possibly being at least a little bit of carryover between the unreleased POTP one we never got to see beyond the promo character art of the "mysterious warlord".

So you can afford $199.99 but couldn't afford $249.99? There was two months to fund it.

every day, in every way, I'm so, so glad that my robot visual media autism didn't drive me towards Transformers toys strongly since, like, the 80s
Tidal Wave here is $337.85 with taxes (also had to pay for shipping because fuck over night I guess). I spent that on getting Omega Prime, plus shipping. I had to get one for me and my son. Kids are expensive man.
Can't fucking wait to leave this shit hole

I can't even afford $199.99 normally, Like I said before I saved up side cash for it and feel kinda skeevy about it. I'd get the takara version of the original if it was still easily findable for $30 in a heartbeat over the 200 dollar remake.

EDIT: I just had a thought, people do recastings of old gi joe shit all the time as a hobby, kinda wonder why I don't see them do it with Transformers, especially with the recent"value speculator" cancer making some of them impossible to find at a good price. Kinda tempted to try it sometime now whenever I get materials for casting stuff.

EDITX2 to avoid double post
ngl Prime driving in was pretty neat
Kinda bothers me it's g1 prime in vehicle mode but then the orange and blue flame truck Bayverse prime in robot mode and nobody addresses it. Kinda egregious even if you're a normie who doesn't know much about transformers.

I don't think there's much for easily available G1 Prime walkabout suits

I've actually seen a good number of them, there were some recent examples, too. There's this one I've seen videos of which is kind of a knockoff of the Universal Studios Michael Bay Optimus photoshoot while still being Official.
God that guy is not even fucking trying to imitate optimus' voice lmao.

yeah I'd assume it was still the basic "smaller person in a suit" sorta Appleseed Landmate thing where it's not really your arms in the arms, but partially your legs in the legs

I know it wasn't gonna happen but I'm still pissed they didn't give David Kaye Hemsworth's role as Orion. MF would hit it out of the park.
Least he's going with an american accent. Not sure what kind. Don't know why they can't go with a Canadian one. Fuck Peter I guess.
