No matter how butch the lesbian, she's still a real woman. That's what the dogs sense. Trannies have been sold kool aid flavored with "You are whatever gender you feel like being today". That's just not how it works.

Also, cats HATE change. I take their bedding away to wash it and they freak out. Everything has to be put back in exactly the right place too. There are cats that have freaked out because a male owner shaved off all their facial hair. So if you walk into the room one day with a bad wig and hooker makeup and go to scoop up kitty you might just get a claw to the face.

Same reason that troons don't seethe as much about conservatives calling them men as they do about liberals probably secretly not believing that they're women. If you confront the liberal they'll grovel and beg for forgiveness, if you confront the conservative they'll laugh in your face, and if you confront the wolf they'll bite off your face.

There are people with real gender dysphoria (not saying that this makes them the opposite gender), but the vast majority of trannies don't even meet that criteria. It causes some amount of upset when in transphobic circles when we talk about "real trannies" vs "fake trannies", but there is a real distinction even if the "real" ones are still insane and bad for society.

And the fake ones (consciously or not) enjoy the power of being able to exert control. This is one situation where you really do get to control how people see you (or at least how they pretend to see you), and that's intoxicating. Even for those of us who aren't mentally ill, that's appealing, that's literally a superpower. And people (or animals) saying, "fuck you, you're not a woman," is like wood to the green lantern, their powers don't work on you. So if they see that their enemy is made of wood they just won't even bother, there are so many more satisfactory targets out there.

Or smells you if your troonery involves hormones that change your scent. If you've ever seen a cat hiss at her own sister when she got back from grooming, you know what I mean.
 
Okay, this is funny. Coincidentally, my cat would always piss on my cross dressing friend's bag/jacket. They wouldn't cross dress in public and never came over dressed up, but my cat knew.
 
So, if you were to put on your science hat for a moment leaving shitposting aside, why do you think that happens?
Generally, I think it's very likely animals with good noses can sniff out weird hormones body odor and they are annoyed and confused by them.
It's also pretty well known if your dog sees you in submissive attitudes, like walking in on someone railing you, it stops respecting you as he doesn't see you as the alpha anymore.

Dogs and cats have ACUTE smells, and theres been cases of cats who could predict death accurately. A cat in a hospital would always cuddle up to the next to die, it was 100% accurate, my guess is they could smell very cryptic things. Maybe humans emit certain distinct pheramones distinct to sex, or their recognition of patterns is different enough to pick up on subtle stuff, it could even be particles, waves, or emissions, or whatever that we don't even HAVE instruments to detect yet, but they can (humans tend to fuck up thinking they know everything, til they find something new, then think they know everything NOW that they discovered that, forever).

In addition to being able to acutely smell the hormone fuckery, dogs especially are very attuned to people's emotional states. If you have a person who is a twitchy socially anxious wreck to the point that they crash out over pronouns, being around them could be somewhat upsetting to an animal.

They definitely know. Small PL but I once had a high fever with an inflamed node under my arm and was bedridden on antibiotics. My (now passed) cat, who didn't like to lay on people, somehow knew where it was and laid in my armpit to keep it warm and encourage lymph flow. He stayed there most of the time until my fever broke three days later. Animals are incredible in what they can sense but he was truly one of a kind.
 
The cats with homophobia here are MUCH more interesting than the ones on reddit

Cats who don't like men wouldn't like troons either, because the cat would identify the troon as a man. Trans isn't even a thing to a cat. Cats aren't dumb enough to believe in it either. It takes the deliberate and perverse stupidity only a human is capable of to believe such abject nonsense.

Cats would identify the troon as a man who is on the verge of a mental breakdown and seems dangerous.

I think greater than dumb or smart (besides maybe orange cats, maybe they love trannies) its more animals are far more primal in nature. The whole idea of a huge subset of societal rules instilled in someone is kinda a requirement of trans bs to be accepted. Like even assume you generate a conciousness from nowhere, with decent intelligence and BASELINE understanding of the world. They will see a tranny and think "why is this man trying to look like a woman?"

So for animals trying to make them accept that shit is just a no, its like trying to make a cat NOT want to chase quick moving small things. You are a man, and they aren't going to think "oh gee wizz I mean thinking that might hurt xirs feelings so I better be nice", they don't have time for that....literally, cats live what, 13 years? thats your average teenager AT BEST, with also an incurable language barrier. So even trying to get this AS A CONCEPT to them is an immense challenge, much less accept and respect it.
