Turning Red thread

How sad is it that like alot of current year culture the most turning red will be remembered for is the memes it generated. First because it was a Pixar movie about periods, then all because one lolcow raised a fuss about how a movie set in 2002 isn't a genuine reflection of reality?
It's a better fate than most others out there tbh. It'd be better for it to just quickly fade into the ether to be forgotten, but there's something bloody amazing and unique to Internet culture for 9/11 memes to be made of it.

There were literal CNN shill pieces about the movie being a metaphor for puberty.
Okay perhaps about puberty yes, but I don’t get all the accusations that the film is predatory or encourages deviant behaviours and fetishes. Or the stupid accusations that the makers of the film are pedos or sex deviants, It’s ludicrous, people are just being edgy and finding offense in stuff that doesn’t matter. Stop misreading imagery as ‘sexual’ in animated kids films ffs.

The red panda is a metaphor for the Asian bitches period. This is obvious, non-negotiable and absolutely sexual. You can't just turn that metaphor off when its convenient for the plot and she has to sell her period transformation for money and is "proudly" going around as a period furry at the end of the movie. That is pretty degenerate stuff.

The main "point" of the film is to not listen to your parents and just do whatever you want. A message only groomers would want children to learn.

Its all pointless regardless, I stand by an earlier post in this thread that this entire movie is just some Asian whores fanfiction where she "totally owns" her mother, something she never did in real life, for bothering to give a shit about her. Portraying a well meaning strict tiger mom as some sort of uncaring tyrant is only something someone who never properly matured would do.
