Any other boomers (or zoomers if you had a PS3) here who enjoyed this series?

I loved Twisted Metal 2. It was the first game I ever played on Playstation. I actually wrote a big post about it in some other thread awhile ago, let me see if I can find it here...

TM2 was the first ever playstation game that I played, I got a PS1 for Christmas one year while visiting my grandparents out of state but I had to wait till we got back home to play it because they had old TVs that couldn't support the system. I spent days just admiring the system and game discs/manuals, reading every inch of them. I got TM2, Tomb Raider 1+2, Street Fighter Collection, Brave Fencer Musashi and Resident Evil Directors Cut.

We got home and I was so ravenous to play it by that point that I immediately ran inside and set it up. TM2 just so happened to be the first game I put in. I think it was about 6pm when I turned that system on and the next thing I knew it was 4 in the morning and I felt like I had just been "somewhere else" for 10 hours straight. I didn't have school the next day so my mom just let me stay up. She told me the next day that she went in there and tried to ask if I needed anything a few times and then dinner and finally to say goodnight and the entire time I was just so focused on the screen I didn't even notice or respond to her (I still don't remember anything but the game from the second I turned that system on).

I play twisted metal 2 sometimes when I get bored of thps2

Wouldn't mind the series coming back with online play, even if it is just a remaster
Have you forgotten who owns twisted metal IP.

You think modern Soyny wouldn't find some way to fuck up the game trying to make it find that modern audience?

Best we can hope for is someone makes a spiritual Successor that stays true to the roots of TM.

I heard some people say the Twisted Metal TV show was good, and others say it was complete dog shit.

But because of the split I've seen among people who prefer classic Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal Black I have no idea how much it sucks.

Something that might be of interest to Twisted Metal fans is, the original game back when it was titled High Octane was intended to have live action FMV endings rather than the scrolling text endings they ended up with. Multiple were actually shot, though never included.

Interesting to see what changed and what stayed the same. Twisted Metal 2 obviously perfected the visual ending presentation in a way that was super memorable and stuck with the player for years, but it would have been cool if they would have rolled with it and expanded on the FMV concept a bit.

Mr. Grimm was always my favorite character, followed by Minion.

A friendly reminder we almost gotten a live action twisted metal movie starring Nicolas Cage as Sweet tooth. But it was canceled in favor of Aunt May movie and Barbie Vs He-man.

First four Twisted Metal games for the PS1 still rock, and the first two were genuinely the most fun you get to play with.

I love those lost TM1 endings. COOcoo...a-cha-cha-cha...

I loved Sweet Tooth's cinematics in Twisted Metal PS3. Really ramped up the dark aspect of Twisted Metal's storytelling.
Youtube doesn't want to embed it properly so here's the direct link

twisted metal: BlACK is alongside GTA III and Conker's Bad Fur Day as the pinnacle of my gaming experiences.

I never played black and can't remember 3, though I must have played it. TM1 and TM2 were peak PS1 gaming.

Best we can hope for is someone makes a spiritual Successor that stays true to the roots of TM.
Vigilante 8 was legit great. Followed by Wacky Races on the Dreamcast. More mario kart than vehicular mayhem, but it was a facking great game.

Started out interesting. Turned into complete dog shit by the end. Main character is played by absolute charisma vacuum Anthony Mackie.

That's it. That's the official opinion of the universe.

I played 2 with my brother a lot when we were kids, have fond memories of blowing up the Eiffel Tower. Black and Head-On were good too but fuck the 2012 one.

i love twisted metal that and vigilante 8 were my favorite things to play back in the day. twisted metal black was one of my favorites of the series. its such a shame they never got to make black 2 like they wanted and instead we got that trash fire 2012 one that ruined so much of what made the games fun to begin with. i would love to see a new game with more characters that does justice to the series.
