There literally exists a term to describe this sort of thing: "Champagne Socialism". Communism has been attracting people like this since it was first conceived. Fuck, even Engels was the son of of a rich family that owned multiple textile manufactories. It's always been an ideology for people who are pissed off that they aren't the ones ruling society. Internet grifters getting on the bandwagon too is no surprise.

when you can make tons of money and power by larping as a socialist. the ideology thats supposed to discourage this fuckness.
they are no better than the TV preists that grift for years. do we ever see these fuckers starting soup kitchens or homeless shelters. fuck no, even though many either have the money or can pool together resources to be able to.
