HAHAHA! I wonder if he's going to show an entire episode. You know, so the jury can get the full context. Imagine being in that jury and getting to watch anime with a bunch of soccer moms lol

I'm guessing him and his team have a specific scene picked out, though. Probably the transformation scene?


This is one of my favorite shows. It's really funny, mixes up animation styles, has great music and sexy characters. I don't think the jury will share my sentiments at all!

Indeed! I was just looking at Rial's IMDB page to see if she had dubbed Food Wars. That's another favorite of mine. I would love to know how a Fort Worth jury reacts to seeing high schoolers serving each other food so good that their clothes explode from their bodies as they cry out in ecstasy lol


This clip is blocked in my country, but I know what it is. Showing Shimoneta seems almost too mean.

Jesus christ her voice is insufferable. VAs like her are 100% the reason I don't watch dubs 99% of the time. They always get dried up bitches that totally "sound just like a kid" to do young spastic females and its fucking grating on the ears.

I agree. Plus, the English actors are obligated to try to match the mouth movements of the characters, because western audiences don't like it when the voice and mouth movement don't line up. Fun fact: the Japanese voice actors are not required to do this. So, the mouth movements of the characters don't even resemble Japanese, they are basically random. The infamous "It's over nine THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND" line is a consequence of this policy, because Vegeta's mouth animation stays open for a really long time without there being any more to say lol.

I could rant all day about how the English dubs are blatantly flawed, but suffice to say that bringing in random hairdressers off the street will not get you the same quality as the highly paid voice actors over in Japan can provide.















Anyway, here's Jamie Marchi (I hope I'm spelling that right) as Lucoa.

dear god, im so glad i only watched that subbed. Too many females, so I can only imagine every character has that exact same type of voice.

Also didn't know that about the 9000 thing, interesting little tid bit of info.
 
Yup. That's also why when a character has a look of distress/concern/embarassment/etc and their mouth remains open. The English voice track is some continuous "uhwoahwohaughah" shit. Can't just have a different noise or something else.
