On today's exciting episode of how are The Division's devs this fucking bad. Apparently some people are doing last season's master mode manhunt and instead of getting the Tinkerer they're being given the Tempest pistol, which is supposed to be the reward for this season's master mode when it comes out in a couple of months.
lol "playtesting? What's that?"

Most game studios have either outsourced or simply deleted their QA departments. This is the standard result of that practice.

The funny thing is, just a couple of days ago during the livestream for the new season, they actually talked about playtesting. One of the big topics was the last master manhunt being FUBAR and the boss bugging out, and how the hell that happened, and their cope was that their test environment isn't a 1-to-1 of the live server, so there's shit that doesn't pop up in testing that does on live. Maybe it's just me, and I'm being unreasonable, but given the sheer amount of times this has happened, WTF is the point of their system then. Why not make a new test environment. Hell why not run a permanent PTS and let some plebs do the testing for you, since plenty would.

*EDIT* Just went to login for today and LOL. LMAO even:

Why the fuck did they choose Summit lvl 100 of all things? Also bets on how shit the drop rate is given how absolutely atrocious the Stretch goals ones were?

Another great idea...
On the bright side, at least it's not the Descent.

The recent Stretch Goals event was a huge waste of time for me. Not only they made the progression more grindy but I didn't get the Eagle Bearer, only a bunch of Lexington (that were already given to players a few months ago). Also fuck them for putting those ugly cosmetics in the "exotic" caches.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed in a recent talk that the goal with the Far Cry series is to have more multiplayer-focused experiences.

Its baffling to see how much Ubisoft gets wrong. Like... who the fuck played Far Cry for its multiplayer? All Ubisoft want is to milk peoples wallets, the player experience has taken a backseat ages ago.

If it's subscription-based, has lootboxes, or some other obnoxious multiplayer pass/pre-order/skeevy early access gimmick I will not buy it. Whether on principle or to save shekels, the amount of good shit already out from any generation of your choosing means there is no reason to consume the slop.

I think the correct question is 'how many people played Far Cry 6's shitty campaign?' and the answer is clearly not enough so now the series has to become another live-service microtransaction-bloated mess to have any hope of being financially viable, moving forward.

FC6 killed all interest in the series for me, as a customer, but I'm very interested to see what they're going to do with Far Cry 7 because I'm sure it's going to be retarded.

It's crazy. All I've heard for what feels like...4 years now? Has been that Far Cry 7 is going to be some Majoras Mask esque timed game where you have to save your family or something within like 42 hours.

Now it's suddenly going to be multiplayer focused?

Ubisoft is fucking retarded.

I think I'm done with Far Cry too, especially after FC6.
I normally blast through the campaigns while listening to podcasts but watch every cutscene because the villain is at least compelling, but with Far Cry 6 I think I only made it to meeting the old drunk guy who makes the special weapons for you before I started skipping everything.

It's pretty ironic that the most famous actor they ever got ended up portraying a character so generic I didn't need to watch his scenes because I already knew what would happen.

No, there's 2 games supposedly in the works. The multiplayer far cry extraction shooter thing, and then FC7 the timed majoras mask wannabe thing.
For those out of the loop, Guillemot is referring to codename Maverick here, which is an unannounced extraction-based shooter exclusively reported on by Insider Gaming in January 2023. Ubisoft is also developing a mainline title, presumably called Far Cry 7, under the codename Blackbird.

You think the small kiwi base who happen to like games is the ones holding that company up?
Did I say this, no. I simply think it's pathetic to see people here who pretend to be anti-woke, who go nuts over super woke games like Veilguard, but having no problems spending money on mildly woke games, and giving money to the companies/people who want to see them dead.

The game being woke (which it will) and UbiSoft being a trash company who hates White people wouldn't be a reason to not buy I assume 🤔

I think Fade to Black is a shit song, never liked it. I love the rest of the album, but I guess I should throw it away.

If you are truly steadfast in your anti-woke, let us know what the last 10 games you seriously played. The last 10 movies. And the last 10 albums. We shall see how much you stand up to perfection.

I must be the only person alive who couldn't fucking stand Vaas in FC3. I suppose that makes him a good "villain" in the sense that I wanted nothing more than to kill the obnoxious meme-spewing faggot and was bitterly disappointed that actually doing so happened during a drug trip deliberately established by the game so I couldn't enjoy it properly.

Yeah yeah, I get it that the actor did a great job portraying him and the role was expanded to suit because he did such a bang-up job, but fucking hell he was the most boring psycho-for-no-reason asshole I've seen in a game for a long time.

I didn't get why people thought he was so great, but I didn't hate him either. I liked Pagan Min a lot more, actually more than the rebels you work with in FC4 because they're both retarded for different reasons. I have virtually no memory of anything that happened in FC5 except that the ending was great and pretty shocking. Shame they had to instantly ruin the impact by releasing the wacky New Dawn with the dirtbike lesbian twins.

This is old news by now, but I just found out about it

Here is the new Anno game, looks familiar?

Yup, 2 old time RTS franchises are choosing the same suicide pact, three if you count Total War: WE WUZ PHARAOHS as well!
Then again, if you know anything about Anno fanbase, this shouldn't be surprising

So, I didn't really pay attention to Anno 1800, was it woke or not? I heard mixed things about it, altho the general consensus is that the game is at least good.

The Anno series is developed in a smaller German city, and so I think the woke is slightly delayed compared to a big city like Berlin. It was announced in 2017 (probably a few years of pre-development before that) and it was released around 2019, just before peak woke.

Anno 1800 had around the same level of diversity though represented more accurately through their nation groups (i.e. the asian woman was a Qing princess, the black was from the American south, etc.). Where the revisionism shone through more was in the fact that the game specialists were 50-50 men and women, with a sprinkling of diversity (probably an accurate representation of late 2010s provincial Germany).

With Anno 117, the woke has progressed by around 5 years? We are now seeing BBC-levels of revisionism where you have asians (who retain their surnames) and blacks roleplaying as Romans of significant rank, for some reason.

It has the same "monkey in a suit" issue as the new Roman Anno, and a whole DLC dedicated to some nigger kingdom.

But yes, it's probably the best Anno game in the franchise. Pity it's full of subhuman niggers and spics.
At least they were inside their own kingdom, which was some representation of Ethiopia. The funny thing is that 1800 carefully tries to skirt around colonialism, and you are there because the Emperor 'invited' you to restore his kingdom (and all the artifacts you bring back are reproductions lol), same with the Latin American region where you are invited to 'liberate' the inhabitants from a quasi-Spain to join a more benevolent Anglo-Benelux-equivalent Empire.

Ultimately it's a game that deals with building settlements in Latin America and Africa, so you are inevitably going to encounter the inhabitants there.
