Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

*Funny how that word has remained a perfect descriptor for these loonies for over a decade despite trends coming and going
>bi-sexual and fully lesbian
doesn't the gay people hate when these two things are cobbled together? it's like saying you are bisexual gay, it doesn't click, it's like trying to suck dick for cock.

still, a bunch of simps are simping for fucking trannies that only pick cracked shit and repack, it's fucking insane to see how retarded and lonely these people are.

It was that Fitgirl would download the game, repackage it and re-distro it in very little time. So people would see "FitGirl [game] repack" which was always smaller in size and more desireable to download and as a result people might think Fitgirl was the big name and never notice that it was an Empress release. Capping the upload rate meant that it would be the only release around for a couple of days. It was all about clout and attention.
i remember seeing that she limited upload speeds on reddit but didn't knew it was about fitgirl leeching from xher, then again i download from a private tracker so...

Shame, I really liked The Division 2 and was hoping to see a Division 3 at some point.
Div 3 anytime in the near future was always a long shot given the resources Massive was pouring in to the Avatar game and their Star Wars game. Combine that with the abject fuck ups of their attempts to continue Div 2 development after it was supposed to end, and 2 other Division games that seem destined for failure and it doesn't look good for a Div 3.

If I got an email like that at the start of the year, I'd be more concerned with updating my resume and getting out quick than putting 110% of my energy in making sure Avatar 2: The Game released on time. It's not very reassuring to have your boss say "We're pretty fucked right now, so I need you to do well, so I don't have to cancel more games to keep the company afloat."
The corpo speak is "re-structuring" and just about every big tech place already does it. The problem with getting ready to leave is that no other place hires and you will be labeled as another company's trash.

Don't forget the The Division Netflix movie that was suppose to be filming that has (probably) been shit canned. I was actually looking forward to that thing.

I do really wanna see how The Division Heartland is gonna turn out but haven't heard anything about it in very long time.

You're right I did completely forget about the movie, it's definitely a shame it won't be getting made since it could have been cool, but not surprising that it got shitcanned after coof. Heartland shouldn't be too far off given it's now got an official ESRB rating which would generally imply it's pretty close to being done. Personally I'm not super interested in Hearltand. I was in the minority that didn't really like Survival in Div 1, and given how badly they've fucked the DZs up I have less than zero interest in a PvPvE game/mode. might try out the PvE aspects, and maybe play through it once for the storybut that's probably it for me.

Also as a random sidenote to how badly Massive have, and continue to fuck up The Division, apparently they've even managed to screw up the preload for tomorrow's PTS, so that bodes well lol.

Ubisoft is the most mismanaged gaming company by far, the amount of staff they have for their market cap is crazy high. When ever someone does finally manage a hostel take over, all they need to do to increase share prices is fire half the staff and cancel anything that isn't Ass Creed, Far Cry and the few Tom Clancy games that do sell.

Ubisoft issues are all it's management. Their management structure is total dog shit for a gaming company, was plans to change it in 2020 but doubt anything has changed.

"For two decades the creative direction of Ubisoft’s games and IPs has been overseen by the editorial team, a Paris-based group of around 100 designers and producers who advise on everything from game design to script writing.

While they don’t create games themselves, the team has a huge impact on development teams across the company. Historically, editorial’s influence has resulted in a cohesive vision across all Ubisoft titles, with learnings from one project feeding into the next."

It's a factor farm approach which just does not work in gaming and explains why so may Ubisoft titles are in dev hell. Creatives being so far removed from the day to day development is never a good idea.

Looking at the already announced stuff, I really can't see what upcoming games Yves might be talking about here that are the best Ubisoft has ever made. Another AssCreed? Another The Division? Vaporware Skull & Bones? So I assume he's banking on something not-yet-revealed, but really, is there any chance Ubisoft is going to unveil something spectacular at E3, some new IP that revolutionizes a genre or a groundbreaking installment in a beloved series? I just don't see that happening for a company like this. I'm curious about what "big one" they have tucked away, but it would have to be pretty incredible to save their ship, and I don't think their Star Wars game (if that's their big one) is going to be that.
There's the Avatar game made by Massive (the studio that couldn't be bothered to fix The Division 2). It should have launched with the Avatar 2 movie but they pushed the release for later this year.

They should be firing 50% of the staff and 100% of their laptop caste rather than going "we need you to do your 100%" and piss off the few people that actually do work.
They should cut the bloat but we know they won't do that. They would rather let their creatives go (Patrice Désilets, Michel Ancel) than having to remove the politburo and its commissars.

I think the problem is that the company has become too big for the top down leadership approach they follow. They've got like 30 different game studios under their control. Only Embracer Group is larger in size, but Embracer is just the holding company; its got twelve different companies under it, each with its own leadership, that controls their own production pipeline. Ubisoft is too centralized to handle all of what they have.

That's not a deal breaker for me. Having the full assault mode available is fine as long as the stealth element isn't compromised. You could bash doors and blast people away with the shotgun attachment in Chaos Theory, and that was fine. Conviction was just so damn lazy and scaled it back, probably because the original concept had him using hobo stealth.
you can still go full ghost (even have to for the path or whatever it's called). one reason I though the backlash was stupid. maybe the rest of the SC players had already checked out at that point.

It's inevitable that I will try out Breakpoint because of how much I'm enjoying playing Wildlands . Even without someone as crazy as me (Ghost Mode Extreme, no HUD, no sync shot, 1st person aim, ground vehicles only, etc.) to play with, the improvements made do sound interesting, even if they do come with a few asterisks.

I'm not much of a CoD fan, but it's a real disappointment that they never tried setting something up like Ghost Recon with their Task Force 141.
you'll prolly enjoy it then, like I said graphic, atmosphere and most of the gameplay are pretty great, it's just some aspects dragging it down, like trying to fit an open world ghost recon square peg into a destiny-clone round hole. worse ways to spend the 15 bucks it costs these days.

when it comes to multiplayer ubisoft was always retarded. 3 asscreeds with pretty fun multiplayer? scrapped with unity and never made standalone. ghost recon pvp? died with the franchise. same for splinter cell. on the other hand it might be for the better, because apparently when they try you end up with something like r6 siege extraction (because that's the only MUH MILITARY franchise ubisoft thinks people know, it's not like they have their own fucking franchise that is based on a viral pandemic) or XD(get it?)efiant.

The wasted potential and my crushed optimism make it hard to enjoy Breakpoint. Breakpoint is great proof Ubisoft is incapable of making good games.
I had proof when they fucked up division 2, massive lying in the in playerbase' faces and then had the gall to ask for a $30 bugfix update.
that's why I went in with pretty low expectations, which then were both still too low and too high at the same time - like at launch you couldn't enter a whole area that was too high up on a mountain since it would crash anyone with an AMD card for some reason. then they go ahead after the game was basically dead and do a full vulkan update and game runs like fucking butter now. oh, and their battlepass, their main monetization vehicle never worked properly to the point they had to disable it, promised to fix it, quietly dropped it and gave everyone every unlock for free.

first year breakpoint was so schizo it was hilarious to watch (for anyone with no real investment since I paid 20 bucks or so for it). and it didn't really affect me since I mainly bought it to run around and explore stuff, as much as people shit on the ubisoft open world formula it can be pretty fun (in moderation).

I hate Fitgirl releases, mostly because for me the installation time is like four or five times what they say it is. Any other repack is lightning fast by comparison.
Give the Assassins Creed IP to someone who might be able to do something interesting with it like Plantinumgames and then fuck off forever.
Armstrong was a Templar who decided to end the millennia-long Templar/Assassin game by burning everything down.

Change my mind.

It does kind of blow my mind that Covid is a legit nail in the coffin for The Division series. Not in the delays and such but that people might not want to play a game based upon a virus shutting down the world. I'm familiar with DC and after getting my friends in Division 2 (when it was like $5 on the Uplay Website) we kept joking at the start of Covid Div 2 was just our training simulator.

I literally cannot name a company more milquetoast than Ubisoft. Almost everything they do is generic and they all blur together. The only titles they made that stuck out were Mario Rabbids, Child of Eden (which wasn't even theirs to begin with, they only published it), and Michel Ancel's work.
Highly recommend the prince of persia SOT trilogy

The soundtrack to Blood Dragon alone is worth the buy. That game is unrepentant 80s nostalgia and I love it.

So Ubisoft has 100 employees who exist solely to tell their subordinates to include niggers and trannies in their games.

Imagine how is the morale of the devs who work for bugsoft. Having to work hard to deliver those terrible bloated games on schedule knowing full well that you have a hundred or so people way higher in the hierarchy who earn way more than you for doing jack-shit.

I won't miss Ubisoft. If you aren't a hamster on a treadmill then what the fuck will we even lose if they go under? They haven't touched Splinter Cell in decades, and even if they did, it'd just be another bad open world game with RPG elements. They slaughtered Ghost Recon, they hate Rayman, the best game they made recently was a fucking Mario XCOM-like.

Let it fucking burn.

EA has the same type of politburo (see Laura Miele) and you can clearly see how it has affected every EA studio and IP.

Fitgirl's main skill seems to be autistic 7zipping at least according to an interview on maybe it was Torrentfreak?
Old ripping groups had some serious skill especially considering they had to follow autistic scene rules about max size or what they could tamper with otherwise their release got nuked. No one can nuke a crappy Fitgirl repack.

edit: comment from a fixed release back in 2000
Our parents made a silly mistake releasing this game earlier, so we had to
rescue the game and rerelease it in a proper rip. This rip holds everything
the CLS rip does - and additionally also the AMBIENT SOUNDS (which CLS forgot
to mention they raped out). According to the riprules signed by our parents
from CLASS, this rip is the PROPER ONE. How did we do it ? We learned in
school how to reindex big files and so were able to mp3 all the sound.

Summary:
CLS-rip = 63 disks, ambient sounds ripped, not mp3ed
CLSKIDS = 23 disks, all sounds included, mp3ed
---
40 disks less
