Ummah.com Forum - Islamic Content

Very informative posts, just a note though- try not to double post. Fit it all in one post if you can, however long, or wait till someone else posts ;)
I don't think @Internet War Criminal is intending to blanket your people under the terrorist idea, but he's just pointing out that unfortunately some of them aren't quite as awesome as you appear to hope they are.
I understand, thanks for letting me know. I just wanted to clear any misconceptions and hope we can be more understanding of each other. I'm speaking as a citizen of my country and experience with others here.

Can we return to discussing the crazy people on Ummah please? This topic has derailed pretty badly.
No, Ummah does not represent all muslims. Just as Stormfront does not represent all white people or Jesusisprecious represent all Christians.
Does anyone now if there's something similar for Scientology? I imagine there would be.
And yes, the posts on Ummah do seem to be rather..not quite sure the right word here..devout? strict? people rather fervently following guidelines and often super-worried if something breaks away from those guidelines.

I think the people in mental hospitals will be deeply offended by that, and I sympathize with them. However, good on you to know the limitations of what these asshats represent. Now, on with the show!

There has to be obsessive followers of Scientology. Definitely.

Oh, and I think the term you're looking for is "Extremist".

I was born in a Muslim country. Ummah is a lot closer to what Western Muslims are like than Stormfront ever will be when it comes to your average white people. There is no comparison. What people say in the street in the MENA is much worse than what is said on Ummah. This is not an extremist website at all and pretty representative of mainstream views.

Of course, not everyone Muslim is bad blahblahblah but don't go and believing that Ummah is some salafist/extremist website is like. It's not. It's a place where your average Western Muslim goes, and they tend to be a lot more liberal than most of their Western coreligionists for that matter. There's a reason they decided to make most of their boards off-limit for unregistered Kufr a few years back after they got bad publicity in the UK for what was being said there.

But yeah,

Can we return to discussing the crazy people on Ummah please? This topic has derailed pretty badly.

I'm behind that 100%

I definitely laugh at that idea. Partially because they use "infected" in association with cancer (it's not an infectious disease, you develop it rather than being infected) which leads me to doubt the authenticity of their science, as well as the whole "reprogramming the immune system"- if they could do that, AIDs would be gone as well. The other part is due to the fact it so conveniently maps with their religious/cultural beliefs and therefore must be true..
Well, that's pretty much true, since we can marry up to 4 wives. I'd prefer only one though.
Aaand yeah. I think after one it would actually start becoming more trouble than it's worth

According to the WHO and others, drinking camel piss straight from the spout, as advised by Mohammed (SAW) in the Sahih al-Bukhari, was directly responsible for the outbreak and spread of MRSA.

Colour me completely unsurprised- a lot of animal-to-human diseases and parasites use bodily fluids/excretions as a transfer path, such as milk, blood or urine. As do vectors for these diseases

http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthre...owing-how-to-beat-your-wife-What-should-I-do-!

The conversation of the year.

Seriously? Like the person in the video says though, can he hit her if she doesn't want to sleep with him or is not in the mood to just for that moment in time? Isn't that considered rape?

A good point. How does this long term member respond?

We all knew you were a troll but let's just answer you. Since he is not having sex with her then how is that rape?
rolleyes.gif

If she refuses to have sex with him then he can either have a word, refuse to share her bed and if all else fails then he can lightly tap her...
This is not a haram relationship where the man and woman do their own thing...once you become a wife then you know that your husband has rights and responsibilities over you just as you have rights and responsibilities over him...A Muslim man gets married so that he can fufill his sexual desires in a halal way, for a Muslim woman to intentionally withhold sex from him is unfair..

maybe if you are a Muslim you should learn your religion..You can't run to us every time your friend shows you a memri video...if your friend causes problems for you and mocks you then you need to break off that friendship and find some good Muslim friends...but that is IF you are a Muslim..

What annoys me the most is the 'IF you are Muslim.' Like, really? Disagree and you clearly must be some sort of troll? Just lol.

I don't know in that context, 'If you are [member of said religion], then you must [adhere to mainstream belief as mandated by our holy books/teachers]' seems like pretty valid in the context of a religious discussion.

Its not like there are schools of Sharia who say 'Nah man, don't beat your wife or compel her to have sex with you against her wishes, allah is totes again that!'

The fact that this question is even up for debate on the Ummah forums proves that they are well worth documenting. They're literally a relgious version of Gamerghazi or Rational Wiki.
If someone really hates their wife so much, they should just divorce. They're not meant for each other.

Except nearly 100% of the people on Ummah.com are Salafi. I've not looked at Ummah for years, but the last time I checked, the majority of the board was gaga over Salafi speakers while threads on traditional Sunnism, Sufism, or Shi'ism were flamed to hell.
