What gets me is that Kris and Susie have plenty of moments throughout the entire game where they naturally become closer and reflect on their relationship, and Susie even awkwardly tries to flirt with Kris sometimes. Noelle and Susie’s interactions feel so forced that they all but have to be intentional. They have to ride a ferris wheel together because the plot demands it out of nowhere. Susie has to “serenade” Noelle with a guitar because the plot demands that Susie needs to hold Noelle’s dead sister’s guitar while Kris is busy. Susie has to not bully Noelle specifically because of >a fucking pencil.

Here’s a perfect example: Kris has the How to Draw Dragons book in a drawer at home. It’s established in Chapter 1 that he’s had the book for a long time, it’s mentioned in multiple chapters, and Susie finally seeing the book is the payoff to a long-running joke that gets both of them flustered and gives Susie a clear hint that Kris might be attracted to her, which excites her.

What’s Noelle’s equivalent to this interaction? She inexplicably has a goth photo of herself under her bed, then Susie sees it and goes “uwu ur so cute and hot noelle u should dress like that for me *blushy_face.jpg*”. One feels natural, and the other feels like what a 14 year old girl thinks romance is.

But also, yeah Kris and Susie have way more organic chemistry than whatever the fuck is going on with Noelle. One feels like two characters naturally having more and more romantic undertones added to their relationship through these tender and even outright flirty moments and the other one feels like the writer shoehorning in the relationship he wants even when it isn't even a healthy relationship with how the characters are portrayed.

[Obsessive simp X violent bully] is not uwu wholesome yuri reddit gold, that's the prelude to a toxic relationship.

It will be a day where hell freezes if you seriously believe that the degenerate romance will be dissolved in favor of the hetero one: If Toby ever implies this*, he'll be cancelled and suicide'd, Alex Hollowka-style.

*If both romances fail and everyone ends up bitter, this might be given a pass, though.

Man this thread made Deltarune look more appealing to play when you're able to talk about it without having to worry about being dog piled about a character being non binary. (Swear to god it feels like nobody isnt allowed to do self inserts without gender police having a say in things.)
Who would've thought that this can help more people be interested into playing something when people are allowed to have fun.

No!! You have to play Deltarune the RIGHT way. If you choose to do the weird route, then you are a incel, misogynist, weirdo. Oh, and if you even so DARE to misgender kris, you will be ridiculed, be called a nazi, and worst of all, get banned on r slash deltarune on reddit dot com.
