Undertale

Why is Spamton so appealing? I love him too but I can't quite figure out exactly why.
He's insane, but nice enough to Kris. In all his mad ramblings he comes across as at least somewhat sympathetic. He's desperate for his freedom, and the vibe he gives off is that he wouldn't attack Kris if he didn't think he had to. He's this weird area where just as much he's a superboss he also feels harmless, versus Jevil, who seems like he'd kill you if he felt like it.

funnily i wasn't sure how to feel about him at first and then i just saw how he acted and everything just made me so happy
really i think i just love how chaotic he is. also glitchy stuff really is a favorite of mine.

so how come ralsei can exist in the library dark world? did he mention something about this and I missed it?
there were people theorizing he's the horn headband kris had as well as everything kris wants to be.
that's the theory that I personally believe but it's still up for interpretation at this point.

Plus, if he's from the dark fountain that can support all worlds, that could explain why he's able to not turn into a statue in others.

He's surprisingly relatable to me - particularly when it comes to his past. Doesn't help that despite his random quips and blatant insanity he's got charisma. I also happen to love puppets that are creepy/cool.

Speaking of which - I'm probably late to the party on this one but I'm wondering if maybe the secret bosses are the result of cheat codes. Jevil sees the world as a game and can do anything (godmode?) and Spamton wanted wealth (infinite money cheat). I wouldn't put it past Toby to explore something like that (particularly how NPCs would react to seeing something like that happen to other characters), and not to mention the only way you can find Gaster's "followers" in Undertale is by hacking AKA: cheating.

IDK I was wrong about the "freedom" thing with Spamton I'll probably be wrong here too.

Don't read this if you don't want it spoiled obviously.
I'm sad he was so short lived in the game. I felt guilty even after sparing him because he's just basically disappears. I hope we see him again somehow.
he joins your inventory as an item i think?
so there's that at least

Spamtom and Jevil have this air of "What happened to you" within their character and it's something I hope continues with each secret boss.

Something, SOMEHOW, is causing these individuals, who suspiciously are the more quirky and isolated members of their respective societies, and ruining them thoroughly while also seemingly abandoning them. It also seems completely unconnected to Kris and the Soul, so I genuinely am curious as to what other forces are at play here.

In any case, the theory that Kris is orchestrating the events of the game, or either our Soul/Ralsei theroies having a part in that, it's clear something independent of these suggested factions is deliberately hurting people and I want to know for what purpose more than anything in this game.

Hell, in a lot of ways, the weird backstories of both secret bosses kind of feels like the OG Undertale. They have this "Sans-like" disdain for the reality and rules of the world they live in but otherwise feel powerless to do anything about it.

There's also the fact that he notes on how Kris is so good at games without having any way of knowing that, and his knowledge of where the darkners from chapter 1 are located on the overworld.

I assumed he was on a similar level of power like Queen and King. He is the self-proclaimed "Prince of Darkness" so maybe he's strong enough to be in any dark world?

Oh right, because the next 3 chapters are coming out at the same time huh?
I wonder if it'll potentially be worth whatever price Toby decides to make it.
I’d imagine he’s got enough goodwill with both Undertale and the first two chapters being free that people won’t piss their pants too hard in anger for whatever he ends up changing. He does have a full team to pay now, after all.

Yeah huh, it's not a solo project or anything. I'll pay whatever, since I genuinely like Deltarune in the end.

I honestly like Deltarune more than Undertale in general, but the main thing that put me off in undertale was how bad the sprites for the protagonist were, in my personal opinion. everything else was alright.

Deltarune has a more interesting story to me so far. I can't wait to see what else happens in it.
