Undertale

Survey_program.exe is the version of Deltarune ch1 still on my HD as I haven't played it yet. (Since I didn't finish Undertale yet, I tapped out in boredom at the third Metatron fight years back and have only gotten interest back again recently.)

Is it still an acceptable version of ch1 or should I get a newer one when ready for it?

Outside of the lore implications I don't think there's much of a difference between the survey release and the final release besides the final release getting updates to fix stability issues/glitches or what have you and (with how gamemaker stuff works) mods only being compatible with the newer version.

I'd just buy the full game, it's like 25 bucks. Or free if you really really want it.

I think with the scene with Toriel and Sans, it doesn't matter so much whether what we're seeing them doing is normal or neglectful. The important part to get context clues from is how Kris and even Susie react to it. Susie seems disgusted, leaving curtly. To me the scene didn't feel like it was really being played for awkward laughs than it was shown to be viscerally upsetting.
I've never been in that position before so I'm not projecting on Kris, but that scene with him putting the pillow on his head and tossing and turning to the sound of them talking and stuff downstairs was disturbing in a way that you know what's happening is traumatizing in some way to Kris.

While I am asking stupid questions, just one more: What anthro animal IS Suzie?

From what I've seen, large body, round blunt snout, large teeth. Is she supposed to be a hippo? Some kind of Bowser-type of lizard? From both official and fan art that I have seen, I just can't tell with her unlike Noelle who is a deer, Toriel who is either a ewe or nanny-goat, Sans who is a grinning fat skeletal asshole, etc.

Vaguely a dinosaur / lizard. Monsters aren't necessarily 100% based off real things all the time. There's a few that are just like vaguely elemental or chimera type things.

Just a big lizard, kinda dinosaur-y. She's first and foremost a monster rather than a straight anthro version of an actual animal, so it's kinda vague.

Apparently she's fairly close to a dragon if Kris's embarrassing drawing material is anything to go off of.

I assumed it was either some bit of context from the divorce that we’re not privy to yet, the reaction being an E10 to T stand-in for them being caught fucking, or something about them thinking she was in the church while they were in the church dark world.

There's a lot of really weird divorce stuff in both UT and DR which would make you think that Toby is writing from experience but both of his parents are together.
There was some schizo theory that Asgore and Toriel's relationship was supposed to be inspired by his breakup with IGPD but that's probably wrong.
