i dunno man seems like way too much speculation and i acknowledge thats a lot coming from me the threads resident gaster sperg. so far chapter 4 has had some of the best music toby has ever put out so i dont feel like the standard is declining at all. im more worried about the core game writing quality (e.g. susie) rather than music editing. it sounds fine, it doesnt matter to me if a tranny was the one who tweaked the eq levels or whatever because the result is good and fits the game

It mostly bothers me because Toby of all people has a right to say “I’m a musician first and foremost and this is my magnum opus, I’ll take care of the music”.

Toby’s doing like 98% of the music. There are just a few songs (excluding vocals) that credit Toby plus one or two other people.

undertale is linear enough that you really dont lose out much if you just watch it (unless you really like bullet hells) but deltarune is much more worth playing youself

Deltarune is far more fun to actually play yourself.

Undertale is more or less the same thing over and over on set linear paths depending on the run, but Deltarune is much more player-involved for the character interactions and story stuff and since it's not finished yet it's more about how you feel about those choices right now than it's just a rush to a specific ending.

Allright, my firend nudge me to buy DL. I did, I finished it and it's MUCH better than Undertale. I alwasy hayed that gay shit about UT where "killing monsters is le bad". But I liked Deltarune. Chapter 1 was kinda weak, but Chapter 4 was pure kino.

The fact that the trannies are on a relatively tight leash and haven't actually been allowed to do any solo compositions kind of does show that he has very little faith in them

Unless all of the leitmotif sperging is little more than happy coincidences, I would be genuinely surprised if the music wasn't something toby was hyper-autistically protective of. At the very least, I get the impression that a lot of the pieces have particular elements in them for a particular reason, and a lot of the help is either for music that isn't anywhere near plot relevant or the equivalent of artistic puppetry with how much toby would be directing them.
